The place is beautiful. Snorkeling, was ok. It's a high tourist destination which we knew going into. Figured we can check it off the list as: "Yup, been there". I found it a bit cloudy, moderate amount of fish. Beach was ok. Did get lucky...More

This is a great place to see the beautiful reef of Oahu. This location is definitely crowded so try to go either early in the morning or later in the day if you want to avoid crowds. However, the later you go the surf gets...More

Great snorkeling spot but it does great crowded. Try and get there by 8 to avoid the crowd. Saw a good amount of fish and the spot is beautiful!

Huge tourist spot... And crowded, but still a great place for new snorklers. We spent 3 hours out on the water and totally enjoyed the fish and you really can't beat the scenery.

Hanauma Bay is actually at the base of a volcanic crater and what looks like a coral reef from above is lava rock tubes. It’s really quite special because you can see tropical fish in knee deep water. You don’t have to swim far and...More

Crystal clear, shallow water; scores of fish! Free entry between 6:00 and 7:00 am. My favorite spot ever!

A real gem. The snorkelling is great with ample fish of varying sizes to see and water that is as beautiful to look at as it is to swim in. The only thing that annoyed me was that some tourists simply have no respect for...More

Unless you get there extremely early plan for an hour of pre snorkeling hassles before you get on the water. First you will have to park far away and walk down the street, then stand in line for tickets, then stand in line for the...More

Everyone says it is must, but I think it is not a must if you do not like peoples and scare fishes. They are not small, lol. There are other fantastic beaches around Oahu.

There was a large parking lot but it look as pretty full when we got there. I'd imagine of you went early you could get a space. The bus or an uber would be just as handy.
