We came here as part of a round island self drive trip on a Friday. Arriving at 10.30 there were already queues and nowhere to park. The 9 minute instructional video is a good for beginners but beyond boring for experienced reef snorkellers. The walk down is pain free. The reserve itself is a beautiful setting and good for families.... More

Hanauma Bay is just amazing!!! The view is spectacular. Once you get to the water the water is clear and you can see schools of fish of all sizes, many varieties of fish just a few steps from the shore. The water is shallow in some parts and some other ones are a little deep depends on what side you... More

Beautiful clear water. A bit crowded but still enjoyable. Get there early for the most enjoyment. I wouldn't really recommend a tour bus for the trip. You can easily catch a cab or uber and be able to arrive and depart at your leisure.

Hanauma bay gets busy - if you are driving be prepared to leave early in the morning or you will not get a parking spot. There is a short presentation before you are permitted to go down to the beach this is to ensure everyone understands that coral is living etc and you don't stand on it. Unfortunate to see... More

Located close to Honolulu, Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve is a great place to do some snorkeling. It's very busy but well organized. Rental gear is available on site and the staff is very helpful. We saw a wide variety of fish, shrimp, an octopus, but sadly no sea turtles. Yet, our 13 and 12 year olds said it was their... More

If you are looking to find out more about the Bay area history and snorkeling, then try Hanuama Bay. This preserve has you view a 15 minute move to understand more about the area, the Bay, the preservation, and the culture before you are allowed into the Bay area.

This was the most amazing day! We got there at 9 and spent the entire day and wasn't sure we were ready to leave at 5 when we had too! There was amazing snorkeling! Abundant and vibrant sea life, colorful tropical fish and coral, majestic sea turtles! There was a trolley which definitely comes in handy coming back up from... More

Visit the bay for a taste of rugged nature / beaches that is more typical of Maui or Kauai. Beautiful spot.
