This is a lovely building in the middle of downtown Honolulu. Worth walking by, even if you don't have time to go in. The architecture is a little different from the rest of the architecture in the rest of the city.

Each year the Christmas tree lighting is a gala event with a spectacular parade, carnival-like food booths, and entertainment. The ceremony itself is fashioned in a manner that each mayor, since Mayor Frank Fasi first established this event, personalizes. Just one night, once a year....More

A nice building that uses a large lobby to often house exhibits and community issues, Honolulu's City Hall is a beautiful building. It is well lit at night and is the center of holiday lights in December. There is nothing more to see as you...More

Honolulu Hale is the political seat of the City and County of Honolulu. "Hale" meaning "home" also implies a meeting place. The mayor and City Council have offices here and public meeting rooms are open. Don't forget to go to the basement. The photos of...More

I am not joking when I say that there were more kids and parents lined up along the parade route than at Disney's nightly closing parade ceremony! I wish towns on the mainland were as enthusiastic about Christmas as much as this city is. The...More

If you have not had a chance to go inside...you should. It is an amazingly beautiful building on the inside. The best time to see it is at Christmas when they have the Honolulu City Lights. Make sure you look up!
