Located on NY-NJ border, to see the scenic drive you have to go from NY down to NJ direction. If not you will be inside of road and not good idea to U-turn on 2 lanes path. The section is not long but very good view to see Delaware river, specially, on late FALL with changed color leafs. Beautiful place to visit but drive carefully. The right side (river side) road side parking space is limited. P.S. less than 30 mins drive from High Point State Park, NJ worth to visit together.

My husband and I drove the Upper Delaware Scenic Byway to escape and try to find a mini-vacation locally. The views from the road were beautiful and there are places to stop along the way that offer plaques for historical reference as well as picnic areas, hiking areas and photo opportunities. On a nice day, it's a lovely drive with very nice scenery.

This is definitely one of the best scenic drives around NY. We spent a whole day exploring the area and thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s about 2 hrs from NY to Port Jervis, the southern most point of the scenic byway. Only downside is not a lot of parking areas along the drive to absorb the scenery.

This was our first time to the Upper area of the Delaware and it was just as beautiful as we had hoped. A little bit different from other areas as it has some areas that go down to depths of over 100+ feet, make sure to wear your life vests! The scenic drive on the way into the area is only about 15 or so minutes longer than the non-scenic way in... make sure to invest in those extra few minutes and also take the time to pull over to look at the river from the "rest area parking". Happy travels!

We alweays take out-of-town company here. The bridge is interesting history; fun to walk (also walk the short trail along the river on the NY side) and of course eagle watching is always the highlight.
