after driving past this in my travels for the past 15 years I have finally made a pit stop to explore. I had no idea that Vicksburg had so much history and impact in the Civil War. Very interesting information and exhibits.

The museum is nicely done; the tour trail is well marked; interesting; give yourself time to stop along the way and view several of the monuments.

First time visit for our family but not for the wife and I. It was good visit with our girls. Once they get older and understand a little better the significance of this area I think it will be better.

The admission fee was quite low for a family of six (as it is $15 per vehicle) which is always good news! I highly encourage any visitors to begin by stopping at the welcome center/gift shop. They show a very informative 20 minute video which...More

We visited this park twice at the beginning of a vacation and then a week later at the end. The park involves a lot of driving and appeals to the history buff. Authentic cannons and a few buildings from the era are interesting. Also, take...More

Were in Vicksburg and this was a must see as I like my history. The drive through the park really makes you think about the war - brother vs. brother and all of the casualties. Make sure and stop at all the memorials and do...More

America 's upkeep of it's Military Park and National Cemeteries is fantastic to see. When in the US we buy an annual Pass so we can see these pieces of history. Naturally, each one has a different look and feel. Vicksburg is situated along the...More

Nice relatively long drive through the park with many monuments, of which there are many. Best part is the ironclad that is on display that was pulled out of the river in the 1960's. Much of it had decayed, but there is still much of...More

We had limited time but were so glad that we stopped. The battlefield is huge so driving is a must - especially in the July heat. Lots of monuments along the drive. We especially enjoyed touring the exhibit of the battleship that was salvaged and...More

Made a visit to park on Independence Day. A sobering drive and a place to remember the many men who lost their lives during the Civil War.

Sorry for my delay in responding i am not sure my son is 26 so no longer a teenager 😁 I know he would of liked it but he is a history buff and it may be boring if they aren't really into history, it is hallowed ground... More

15$ a car load, but there was no one at the gate, we went memorial day weekend and an hour before the parked closed, so we only stayed and watched the 20 minute documentary which was free anyway. Definitely a great overview... More
