It was a nice National Battlefield. Some info in the visitor center but so much more on the tour road. Road was well maintained and lots of signs with information but 1 suggestion: weed eat so we can see what the monument actually says. The...More

Our first time seeing a battlefield and it was very interesting. They offer a guided tour for $50 or a cd that you can play in your car for $15 I believe. We didn't have a CD player so there is a phone number that...More

Very interesting place. The Cairo museum is small but informative. However I have to say that the park drive finishes at stop number 9 out of 18. We were not given any information at the beginning about this. There is just a 'road closed' sign...More

We are on a road trip from England covering the Deep South in an RV. This historic place was on our list to visit, and we are so happy that we did. A tranquil location, filled with pride and respect seeped in history.

While there are 1,300 monuments and markers in this military park, which at times appears confusing, someone has taken great pains to mark each significant milestone about what happened here during the civil war. I only wish the visitor center had a relief map that...More

First off, you go to the museum registrar and attend the movie summarizing the north and south's civil war-----interesting enough you will set through it at least twice.

The young Park Ranger who greeted us was an indication of how Special these Hallowed Grounds are! She was so professionally informative. As we slowly took our time driving thru the Park, we looked over the steep hills and ravines. I commented to the family,...More
