The Vicksburg National Military Park is a place that I feel very strongly about. I first came here with my Boy Scout troop when I was in my teens. The park is a great place for scouts and there are two different hikes available that let you experience the park in very different ways. The first hike is the one... More

This battlefield is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. Very well presented. It helps you understand the battle when you see the topography. Be sure to see the battleship which was raised and put on display.

This park is outstanding in its presentation of the major Civil War battle. There is an excellent film to set the stage, but the 16-mile drive is spectacular, with informative signs and audio. The number of markers honoring the many military units from around the country is awesome.

This is an important piece of American history and the battles that shaped our republic. The battles that were fought pitted friend against friend and family against family. This is a must see for any one interested in history.

The military park was beautiful. Very overwhelming when you saw all the state monuments and military cemetery and realized the impact of it all. I only wish... More

Large battlefield, that was historically documented by survivors of the battle. Take your time and stop often to honor the great Americans who fought and died here for their deeply held values.

Excellent tour through history. We drove through the 15 miles or so of national park and stopped at the numbered sites on the park map. Beautiful views. There is a solemn but intriguing feeling to the experience.
