A stately southern mansion that is now a B&B we really did not take advantage of all it had to offer. It's right outside the Vicksburg National Monument and is a jewel in an otherwise kind of seedy neighborhood. It's a self-guided tour, and you have access to quite a bit of the place. It would be a really interesting... More

All the other Mansions and Plantations we visited on our 5 day tour should learn from this site. You are greeted with genuine warmth and friendliness and invited into the B & B dining room where you are show a short film on the house. This film covers a lot of information and you feel like you know what you... More

Absolutely delicious. Husband had pork chop. I had shrimp and grits. The food was to die for. We will go back.

We stayed in the Old Quarters (the former servants' room) which had a king bed and a large bath. Check-in is between 1PM & 4 PM and since we were driving here from Memphis, that meant we had to go to the inn before touring the battlefield (which was why we came here). Later, in the evening, we discovered there... More

I would love to stay in this beautiful home. We were lucky the day we were there as the current owner was on site and could give us additional history about furniture and all in the house. There is a video we watched before touring that gave us background. The cafe attached to the house looked wonderful and the grounds... More

It's a lovely Antebellum house that doubles as a B&B, so don't be surprised to find tourists peeking into your roped off room before you take possession. The location is great with the old Courthouse being only a 5 minute walk, and down town being no more than 10 minutes walk. Breakfast was slightly unusual in that there's no choice,... More

Personal and private, the ideal B&B. We went during our honeymoon and couldn't have been happier. Excellent breakfast, tea hour offered every morning and afternoon, and historic home tour included in stay. Would recommend staying in the carriage house instead of main house for extra privacy.

Thank you so much for choosing to stay with us here at Anchuca and for the wonderful review. It would really help us if you could copy and paste this review to our tripadvisor page titled Anchuca Historic Mansion & Inn. (that's our official page for the B&B) Thanks again for helping us preserve Anchuca. More

This is where I always take out-of-town guests. It is one of only 3 Vicksburg restaurants whose food I would rate as excellent and well-beyond expectations. Wonderful atmosphere in this antebellum mansion! Great drinks. Melt-in-your mouth filets, usually served with a mouth-watering sauce--but order your filet plain if you don't like a sweet sauce with your steak. I've eaten at... More

We stayed just one night, but really enjoyed the mansion. We would certainly go again. The staff was welcoming and our room was charming.
