More
Fort Walla Walla Museum is a walking museum located on 17 acres, and is a must-see for visitors. As the primary caretaker of the cultural and historical heritage of the Walla Walla Valley, the Museum features four large exhibit halls housing thousands of artifacts, a pioneer village, a 33-mule team hitched to a wooden combine, and more. The Entrance Building features several galleries, including one for rotating special exhibits, and an admission-free Museum Store filled with books and heritage gifts. On the lower level of the grounds is a Pioneer Village with 17 buildings, many of them furnished, for guests to explore. There are more than 40 living history performances every year that take place in the village. The Museum also hosts additional activities, classes, and events—like the free Museum After Hours presentation series, which features thought-provoking topics on everything from history to conservation. The Fort Walla Walla Museum provides a memorable experience for the whole family, and you’re sure to learn something new during every visit. Come see what’s new at the old fort today!

This was a great activity for the family as they have a lot of visual or interactive along with text to learn history of how early pioneers in Pacific Northwest lived. Formerly a military fort, they now use back lot for Rc car racing and...More

5 buildings bursting with interesting historical displays kept my kids (ages 11 & 13) entertained and enthralled for over two hours. The living museum "town" had them pretending they lived there and I could hear them discussing what might have occurred in each building. A...More

Particularly enjoyed the displays of the old farm equipment since my grandfather had harvested his wheat with a mule drawn combine in the early 1900's

Had high expectations based on reviews on here. While not a bad museum by any means, I was a bit underwhelmed. I was hoping for more history on pioneer Walla Walla. No interactive displays. The early history and early farming exhibits were interesting. Great place...More

The $7.00 fee for adults is very much worth the cost. Five buildings to explore with vintage displays and interactive material everywhere. Gonna go back there again!

Interesting displays and lots of local history including: jail cell, huge team of life-size mules hitched to harvesting machine, clothes, photos, buildings all in a historic setting.
