There are great walking trails to enjoy while taking in the scenery of the many lakes and monuments.

Home to over 25 state champion trees, Spring Grove serves two functions: the second largest cemetery in the US (and US Historic Landmark), yes; but also an extraordinary arboretum, conserving many tree and shrub species. In fact, new varieties of dogwood and arborvitae were developed at Spring Grove and are named after the facility. Many plants are labeled, so while... More

This is a beautiful place to walk with 1,2,and 3.5 mile well-market routes. Allow plenty of time your first few visits because you will want to explore. The building at the entrance has bathrooms and lots of historical information and maps.

The chapel was an amazing place for our daughters wedding in November. No heat or air but weather worked out perfectly! Gorgeous backdrops for photos. Seating for only 200 but was the perfect for a small and quaint wedding. Highly recommended for your special day!!!

Wonderful visit, great to take pictures of the history on the grounds. Helpful staff, but the map to show the location for certain species of trees is vague and some of the trees have tags and some don't.

We wanted to enjoy the outdoors on the lovely day and headed here. It is so large a bike would be a better alternative than walking. The ponds/lakes are filled with fish, turtles and even swans. The variety of trees and age is exceptional. The cypress knees are a favorite of mine. The buildings on the property are beautiful architecture... More

Spring Grove is an amazingly beautiful place to visit. This historic cemetery is full of interesting headstones, statues and small buildings. In the spring, gorgeous, colorful flowers fill each area. Everywhere you look, trees bloom in soft, spring colors....Pear Trees, Crab Apple and Cherry Trees, Red Buds, Dogwoods.... along with huge hedges of bright yellow Forsythia. Then in fall, those... Spring Grove is beautiful, especially when the blooms are abundant in April. There are Spring Grove vehicles that drive around, assuming for the safety of visitors, but caution needs to be exercised due to the many remote areas. Cannot give a review higher than average due to the poor upkeep of the many veterans markers who are buried there, which... More
