Interesting and educational

Fun and educational for the kids. We didn't do the movie due to time. My kids are 8 & 9, got some info that stuck. Takes a bit over an hour to see it, grounds are nice to picnic.

I thought this place was great. Pricey to tour but the monies are supporting this piece of PALEONTOLOGY HISTORY. I was shocked to see how big the dig was. A REAL dig. We added on the Junior dig for our 5 and 7 year olds. Good choice for them, hour long paleontogy dig for real sized bones. They loved it.

Nice behind the scenes tour of an active dig site on the road to Mt. Rushmore. If you like the whole old bones dig deal, even if you don't you will find this tour worth it. Nice guides and lots to see. Puts things in perspective.

Museum, tour, video. Very expensive and of course a huge gift shop. Guides seem rehearsed and very robotic.

Wife and I took the tour of the dig sight. I thought it would be boring but it was fascinating the way the guide explained what is actually taking place now. Much better than a static museum.

This place is really amazing, along with the history behind it. If you're at all interested in fossils/paleontology you should visit. There is a nice little movie that talks about how the mammoths ended up in this spot, and then a large indoor dig site that you walk around. Pictures are welcomed and it sounds like you can volunteer to... More

Every few years we come back to the area and when we do we always come back to the Mammoth site to see what else they have dug up. It is a fascinating place that changes constantly. The first time we were there years ago they have uncovered 30 something mammoths now they are over 60. The tours are great... More

An original site discovered in Hot Springs, SD. It is where Ice Age remains are being excavated. Wooly Mammoth bones are marked & then moved for research and preserving. You can see them working live on the tour. Pretty cool place.
