The lake itself is beautiful, but compared with Yellowstone's other attractions and the lakes in Grand Teton (Jackson and Jenny lake), I don't see a reason to stop for this lake.

Do the boat tour. 50 bucks for a family of 5. Cheap and enjoyable. Great tour with a better tour guide. We learned a lot about the lake, history of the park and all the hanky panky of the past history. Got some awesome picture...More

Such a beautiful lake and so large. Its seems you drive for hours and you work your way around the lake. Did not take a boat ride, but I am sure it was out of this world.

The lake is huge and beautiful. My wife and I got great pictures of the Lake and surrounding scenery. We saw people kayaking in it and that looked fun.

There are some nice views of the lake as you drive around but I would say it's just average. You can't miss it if you're driving around the park.

Didn't find much to play or sightseeing. Don't understand why people ever visit here. Visit this place just because it's in the middle of the loop and have no other lodging place to stay inside the park.

We did a guided fishing tour and had a great time. Our guide was professional, knew where the fish were, and made the 4 hours fly by. We caught 5 large lake trout with no bait and had more fish fillets than we could eat....More

It is hard to imagine that you are above an active volcano in Yellowstone Lake. The tour boat is definitely worth it as you come away with history and a smile during the one hour ride. The staff are very personable, safety conscious and protectors...More

We stayed at the Lake Hotel and had a view of the lake from our room. We walked down to the lake but that was all.

Yellowstone Lake was amazing! Big herd of elk was there the morning we visited and babies were playing near the boardwalk. The sheer size of the lake was breathtaking and I think it's the prettiest lake I've ever seen!

Avoid going on trails to Canyon falls the upper and lower falls, they are bit steep and not recommended for old people with heart and breathing issues. Artist point gives a good view of the lower falls from a distance... More
