I hiked Mount Washburn in the first week of June and while the sun was out in force and I was quite comfortable hiking in shorts, most of the trail from Dunraven Pass was covered in snow, 2 to 3 feet thick. Spikes or Yaktrax...More

This road was a bit of a nail biter, but we really enjoyed it. There were still large piles of snow even in early June. Keep an eye out for wildlife because I saw a black bear not too far from the road. Unfortunately, it...More

This was an amazing hike. Saw a grizzly but could not get shots. The top is panoramic and worth it. The firepower room is a great place to grab lunch and rest before going back down. Don't miss this hike.

The drive up and down the mountain is worth it. You can look down on towering trees and the beautiful valley. It might be a little nerve wracking for those not used to driving in the mountains, so have your steadiest driver take the wheel.

Spent some time on Mount Washburn doing a little photographer and panoramic imaging. When the sun hits just right the valley below is a layered display of rich greens. The gravel road up is easy to drive and certainly has room for cars going the...More
