Green Dragon Spring is located in the Back Basin at Norris Geyser Basin. Some of the photos and comments are confusing this Spring with Dragon's Mouth Spring in the Mud Volcano Area.

We checked this out on our way out of the park. If you onlybhave a day and want to see the lake and some hot pots, this is the place to go. Easy walk. And to hear the dragon was neat.

We stumbled upon this on the Back Basin Trail in the Norris Geyser Basin because we wanted to see Steamboat Geyser. It would not be worth it to make the hike just to see it. It stunk worse than most geysers and wasn't very colorful. Dragons Mouth in the Mud Volcano area is more impressive to see and is a... More

Did not think the hike up the trail was worth the reward. Colorless and smelly. If I missed this one I would not have any regrets. Bison at the top between two green pools. Hike it clockwise, but ti still smells.

This is a nice break on the Fishing Bridge - Canyon segment. It's an easy walk though a bit of incline, the official trail guide recommends going clockwise for the lesser incline.

This is an bubbling spring on the Back Basin Trail in the Norris Geyser Basin. The trail curls around the spring so the view is pretty good and close to the action, so to speak. The spring is not worth a couple mile hike by itself but it is one of the reasons the Back Basin trail is worth the... More

If you can handle the smell, the spring shows a variety of colors that are not usually seen in nature. And to know that this spring has been here for hundreds of years, if not thousands, looking almost the same way is amazing.

if you are in Norris Geyser basin and take the back basin hike you will see this crusty spring that boils. It is interesting but not worth going out of your way to see. I can't give any feature this geologically unique in the world less than average but compared to other things at Yellowstone it is probably average or... More
