This is a viewpoint on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon Of Yellowstone. I have to admit, I haven't seen it since 2001, which was our first visit to Yellowstone. Apparently, it's changed since then. Unfortunately, things in Yellowstone do.

This was our last stop at the Grand Canyon viewpoints on our morning's exploration, and while it may not have offered as spectacular or iconic views of the canyon as previous stops, there were nevertheless incredible views to be had. Be sure to scan the cliff faces below you for osprey nests, and take in the views up and down... More

We did this walk in the afternoon after finishing the south rim walk. It's quite a long hike but worthwhile . The cliffs and colours are amazing. The walk takes you very close to steep drop offs through forested areas where we spotted a resting elk just lovely scenery and reasonable exercise. You can see up and back along the... More

But it's name may draw visitors who may be disappointed at its distance from the famous Lower Falls of the Yellowstone River. However, it is a remarkable place to enjoy the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone from. Intricate yet subtle coloration bear testimony to incredible geologic processes which formed this amazing place. On the way to the parking area, see... More

Inspiration Point. The overlook used to extend 100 feet further out over the gorge but an earthquake in the ’70, caused the walkway to fall into the river. There are on average, a thousand earthquakes per year in Yellowstone National Park, although very few are ever strong enough to be felt. But it is important to remember that this land... More

We enjoyed visiting Inspiration Point and captured some of the scenes and shots which prompted Park founders to advocate for Yellowstone's creation. It's a phenomenal vantage point of the Grand Canyon and the Yellowstone River coursing through it. Another gem of the gem of Yellowstone. What a jewel of our National Park system!

This point is on a promontory cliff on the northern rim of Yellowstone Canyon. When we were there, the very end of the point was closed. I believe there have been some shifts making it unstable and therefore potentially dangerous. But you can still see incredible views.

Maybe not the best view of the canyon, but much fewer people here gave us the chance to view the canyon in more peace, and see the cool osprey nest down below. HANG ON TO YOUR HAT - really windy here!
