That’s the meaning of the word “grand.” Not wonderful, though it is that. Please give yourself time to travel It for several days. Yellowstone park is vast and very popular to the point of being overcrowded, on the front country. 99% of all visitors stay...More

Even though the park has many offerings that you can't see from the Grand Loop Road, this road allows those of us who don't do any hiking any more to see the great natural diversity of the park including flora and fauna as well as...More

A beautifully scenic road well worth the trip. Lots of very scenic spots and wildlife can be spotted, we even had a buffalo slow down traffic by walking in the middle of the road.

There is a lot to see along this road with natural beauty all around you. Take your time when driving through here and allow plenty of time to look for animals and stop to see the areas noted on the signs. Such a variety of...More

A beautiful drive all the way around! Loved stopping by the riversides. The water was so cold it made your bones hurt, but it was lovely to experience.

Kind of the main through fare to the park which leads to most of the natural attractions that everyone is after. Wildlife is abundant but don't be in too much of a rush as we learned. When you slow down and really look...you never know...More

If you can book a trip around the loop, you'll see nearly all of YNP worth visiting (then, go to Lamar Valley).

In Yellowstone all you need to do is follow the Grand Loop Road, (no yellow bricks), but it does get you to the majority of the main sites and attractions in the park. We spent 2 days mostly on this route and took in from...More

Grand Loop Road is the main park road in Yellowstone. The 140 mi/230 km road goes from, in clockwise direction, Mammoth Hot Springs to Tower Junction, Canyon Village, Fishing Bridge, West Thumb, Old Faithful, Madison, Norris, and back to Mammoth Hot Springs. My husband and...More
