Winter View is Beautiful

The path down to the falls is slippery and steep in the winter, but don't let that stop you from going. It is beautiful; just take it slowly. Climb back up seems easier.

Moose Falls is absolutely beautiful! For good pictures you'll have to make a little bit of a walk down hill! I would highly recommend the stop!

Found out about Moose Falls from Things to Do on Trip Advisor. It is shown on the Yellowstone map, but no info. About a mile north of the south entrance on the right side of the road, just after you cross a bridge. You can hear the sound as you cross the bridge Pretty much no info to know you... More

Nice falls with steps to view well. Not able to access the water because of posting. Noise of the falls adds to the enjoyment, since you can get so close.

You can see the top of the waterfall from your car as you drive by and the majority of people do. While we were there only two other groups stopped. You are missing a very nice waterfall with a very short hike. You can get down to the base of waterfall. It is one of the first parking pulloffs after... More

This is another 30 Ft waterfall in the park, but it seemed higher to us. Since it is a bit off road, it wasn’t crowded at all. We were able to take the rocky path down to the creek below the falls and climb on the rocks above the falls, so good photos all around. This very, very short hike... More

We arrived at Yellowstone National Park via the South Gate. We were using the book Yellowstone Mileposts, and saw that Moose Falls would be coming up in just a few miles on the right. There is a turn out just past a bend in the road, but the Moose Falls sign is placed at the North End of the turnout,... More

About two miles or so after entering Yellowstone from the South, there is a very short bridge and a small parking area / turnout. Park here and walk just a short distance to the east to see these lovely falls. Not many stop here, so it is not overloaded with other tourists. A hidden gem, not far off the beaten... More

We stopped by Moose Falls in the afternoon on our way back from seeing Old Faithful on our Snowmobile day trip. Parked the buggies and made a short walk to the falls - partly frozen but mostly flowing nicely. There was a natural snow bank to slide in beside the falls. Fun! Enjoy....
