Grand Canyon of Yellowstone definitely made my top two favorite of Yellowstone National Park. The view is breathtaking. We hiked down to the start of the waterfall. Somewhat steep hike, so good hiking shoes recommended, but the view is all well worth your time and...More

There are many easy views from the rim that are great, such as Artist's Point or Grand View. However, my favorite view of the lower falls is from Red Rock Lookout. It does involve a bit of a hike down into the canyon on a...More

It is always a joy to see the canyon in any season; in the winter, the snow is especially beautiful.

Be sure to hike down to the platform at the top of the falls. It is AWESOME. It’s a decent way down and back up, but not all that strenuous and so amazing to stand where all that raw power is cascading over every second.

I was amazed by the size and beauty of this place. Hike down to the brink of the upper falls after you take a look around the top. Evening or mornings before 10 AM are the best, less crowded times to go.

I believe there's only 2 places open in the park in the winter: Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel and Old Faithful Snow Lodge.
