There isn't anything I could say bad about visiting this park! It's beautiful, awe inspiring and humbles me.

The Yellowstone River's canyon often gets lost in the shuffle of geysers and roaming bison. Frankly, it wasn't very high on our list prior to our visit. Once there, however, we were quickly enamored with the place. It's stunningly colorful, and I wished I would...More

Definitely a beautiful display of sheer rock canyons with waterfalls traversing through creating the perfect backdrop for a spectacular photo opportunity. We didn't walk down to the lower areas as it was getting late in the day but in my opinion...you don't need to. It...More

Admittedly, our trip to Yellowstone was short and surfacey. We didn't have a lot of time and did the photo-op loop for the sake of a guest from Asia. Much of the rest of it was cool, but this was legitimately beautiful and I wish...More

The waterfall is so cool and mist surrounds it. I loved it. You have to climb down a bunch of stairs and it can get scary, but the scenery is definitely worth it.

Nice walks available especially to see waterfalls from closer viewpoint. Lower waterfalls impressive, not totally frozen in the winter. Beautiful landscapes

It is deep, there are lots of trails one both sides of the canyon (you can easily walk and appreciate the perspective from the top)

This was a beautiful attraction, and place to stop and just enjoy the majesty of this park! Bring a camera, great hiking shoes, and plenty of water!

Amazing views from a number of points of the canyon and falls, we stopped off at Artist's Point as time was limited. Would have like to have walked more of the canyon itself, but the views from Artist’s were spectacular. Winter I bet is even...More

Grand Canyon of Yellowstone definitely made my top two favorite of Yellowstone National Park. The view is breathtaking. We hiked down to the start of the waterfall. Somewhat steep hike, so good hiking shoes recommended, but the view is all well worth your time and...More

Didn't see any bears but they are out there. Old Faithful and the Grand Canyon are on opposite sides of the park, I figure maybe a couple of hours driving between them. They both have lodging nearby and ideally you would get... More

I believe there's only 2 places open in the park in the winter: Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel and Old Faithful Snow Lodge.

Your plan is, in my opinion, is a bit ambitious given the distance you desire to travel. Note: the drive will be longer during peak summer season so plan accordingly. If you do plan to do this, I would recommend you call... More
