Artist Point is at the end of the south rim drive. There is plenty of parking and the walk to the observation area is easy. Even though the parking area is large, I recommend arriving early or later in the day. The views from the...More

Of all the views of the canyon and river this was by far the most beautiful. Well worth spending a little time there.

Above all, do not forget your camera, the views are really spectacular. I personally liked the colors, it looks like a picture and totally justifies its name. A group photo with a nice background is a must.

If you only have a short visit planned, this is a must see. We took South Rim to the parking lot, and then began the hike through the canyon. As we walked, I quickly could see how it got its name - the colors of...More

A bit of a walk to get there on a gravel path. Saw a bison sleeping about 30 yards off the path. The site was cool. Multi tiered. Numerous "pots". 5 star all the way. Lots of thermal activity.

Artist Point is well named. If you have seen artist's renderings of Yellowstone Park, either on canvas or as photos...this is the place. I have attached a photo taken on my iPhone 6. The landscape does all the work, you don't have to! If you...More

If you have seen beautiful pictures and paintings of the Upper Yellowstone Falls, this was where they were taken. This view is a short walk from the parking lot. Feature is near Canyon Village.

You can see the lower falls from the other side of the canyon. It worth its name, very good for taking photos or doing a painting. You should also do the hike to Point Sublime from there to get some more awesome views.

Fun to see the paintings and then appreciate the artist's inspiration here. Crowded and busy but beautiful.

Yes it is open, the construction is at Tom's Trail parking area. You will pass it on the way to Artists Point. The parking is limited, September will be easier....but I would still try to get there early. It has one of the... More

I was able to manage it on a broken foot using a cane - assuming you get a nearby park (and there was plenty of parking available when I visited but I was visiting very early in the season) there should not be an issue. If... More
