Beautiful views and great photography. Easy trail, not much elevation change. Snow kept us from walking too far.

Our visit was on a cloudy and misty day, but was certainly still a great view. I shot some video of the river I really like. I very much enjoyed watching people from all over the world appreciate the beauty of our first national park!

This was nice, although since I'm afraid of heights, I was scared. Other than that, bring your camera and get beautiful pictures!

Yellowstone offers so much! We camped six nights so had a chance to explore quite a bit. Of all our experiences at this national park this hike was the very best. It was a thrill to hike along the river and watch it rush toward...More

We arrived at Artist Point (around 8AM) and picked up the trail-head at the south end of the parking lot. While the trail is mostly paved, there are some steep sections that would make it a very challenging trail for wheelchair access but otherwise, an...More

This trail description is not for those who just want to look at the overlooks or want to take a short hike along South Rim Trail. Those are straightforward and other posts have described them. This a much longer hike encompassing the South Rim of...More

We have Yellowstone penciled into our travel plans for December 2018. Just wondering if South Rim Trail is accessible at this time of the year?

Most of the park closes. The only part that stays open is for skiing. Check with park for extra details.
