We spent quite a while slowly enjoying a short hike to view these falls along the Grand loop highway. The boulder fence is low, so it's quite thrilling to look over the edge. The path was covered with thick ice in one direction, so we had to watch our step. The rest was a very easy path but we still had to be cautious since we traveled in late April. It is worth stopping by and seeing the rushing waterfall , especially on a sunny day.

Gibbon Falls is a waterfall on the Gibbon River in the northwestern section of Yellowstone National Park. My wife and I stopped here during our visit to Yellowstone NP in mid-September 2022.

The falls are viewable from a roadside pullout right off the Grand Loop Road. After a short 400 ft/122 m walk along a wheelchair accessible path, you will have an excellent view of the falls as it drops approximately 84 ft/25 m.

There are so many beautiful things to see at Yellowstone NP; the nice thing about Gibbon Falls is that it will not take much time out of your busy sightseeing day to take it in.

The Gibbon Falls are right on the Grand Loop Road and has a large parking lot. There is an upper viewing deck where most people take their photos, but if you head a couple hundred feet further down, towards the lower viewing deck, there is an even better view point and most people don’t go beyond the upper deck. I got some great photos there and didn’t have to deal with getting other people in my photos and even managed to snap a quick selfie. Worth a stop.

I stopped by Gibbon Falls on my first drive into Yellowstone. The parking area and short trail are right off the road making it one of the easier sites to see in the park. The falls were gorgeous despite being during the drier fall season. It’s definitely a nice stop along the Grand Loop Road.

This may not be the among the most famous places to visit in Yellowstone but you definitely shouldn’t miss it!

There is an easy walk to an upper viewpoint and another to a lower viewpoint! The parking lot isn’t huge, so try and hit this not in the peak of the day!

We sort of pulled into the Gibbon Falls parking lot out of necessity. A backup on the road (somewhere up ahead a bison decided to lay down on the highway and take a nap) had traffic at a crawl and with nature calling a pit stop was in order. But what a discovery!

The falls are quite photogenic and their orientation lend them to some good photos. The trail along the road gives you a variety of different perspectives of the falls and the Gibbon River. We actually stopped here more than once to take in the scenery. My own impression is that the falls are very underrated, this is one of Yellowstone's gems.

This is a great "first stop" if you're driving up to Mammoth Falls or the Norris Geyser Basin. But if you're answering the call of nature keep in mind, the facilities are much smaller than the line most times.

Never heard anyone talking about this waterfall and beautiful area. It’s right off the roadway and you can get some awesome shots of the falls. It’s a short time for the venue but make sure you put it on you “want to see” list.

Gibbon Falls is a quick pull out and an easy cement trail to see a different type of waterfall as you can see by photos this is a very wide and shorter waterfall than most of the other ones in the park. It’s a good place to stop for as long as you want or as short as you want and is the accessible for.

Gibbon falls was great to view at the roadside pullout, but WE parked at the picnic area down the road and walked up along the river to the base of the falls and THAT was spectacular. Had to cross the river at one point but well worth it.
