The starkness, the sheer awe of barren rock looking so magnificent and overwhelming is enough. But add to that the beauty of every facet of Yosemite, and you can see why it is not just a National Park, it is a National Treasure. There are...More

Toga pass is a clear road. Very well maintained. Many stops for many hikes along the pass. We were really impressed how clean and well organised everything is. The tracks are clear with information boards everywhere. In one day, we drove through the pass through...More

Make sure to stop at ALL the pull outs on this road - each has a unique view. There are also places to stop and hike. This road is closed in winter and often fall and spring. We left the park this way and traveled...More

Lovely drive over the quiet side of Yosemite. Great views, walks and swimming in Tiaoga lake. Really good to see the quiet side without the crowds.

I am always the lucky one being the passenger while my husband drives. The beauty comes in large doses such as the view at Olmsted Point of Half-Dome and in small ones such as the lovely clear stream running through the rocks next to the...More

If there's a more naturally beautiful piece of scenery I've yet to see it. Around every turn was a more spectacular view. Plan on taking a while to get to the end of the pass as you'll want to stop every half mile for a...More

My favorite part of Yosemite is the Tioga Road, with views of Yosemite Valley and its majestic stone from the backside. Great views on both sides, and a chance to cross the Sierras - when the pass is open! Some lovely short hikes available to...More

We took about four hours to drive the pass. Stunning scenery in every direction. So many vista stop areas, making photo opportunities easy. Very winding at times, and changes in altitude. Defiantly a must do!

Views of the Sierra that you'd never see otherwise, but the road is twisty and, in many places, there are no guard rails.

We left the park on the pass. It takes an hour or so to get from the valley floor up to the summit 9000+ feet. The roads are good all the way in summer and there are plenty of view points along the way. About...More

likely it will still be open at that time...all depends on the weather..the pass is at higher elevations so I would watch the weather channel a few days before going on the trip just to be on the safe side

Hi Few people use this Q&A feature, so you won't get many replies here. The forum is more active, but it's for conversations. The NPS Mileage chart includes drive times from Yosemite Valley Visitor Center. It's linked to... More

Hi again I think it's better to have a conversation on the Yosemite forum. This seldom viewed Q&A feature is not the best option. Please post a question there and share all the information about your visit. For example... More
