The rock formations that make up this part of the park make one almost feel on a different planet. The hike is a fairly easy couple miles, and the lake is a great place for a picnic.

Very nice place to stay overnight if you climb Mt. Hoffmann! Basic but sufficient and very quiet which it the most important thing when yu want to do a multiple day hike in the Yosemite park.
