Moderate to difficult hike. Very scenic. Can see half dome, vernal falls and Nevada falls. We did not akeem it to Nevada falls. Couple of places have bathrooms and place to fill water bottles.

The 0.8 miles to the footbridge is mostly uphill so quite strenuous but the magnificent views all the way up make it worthwhile

We went on the mist trail which is not too long but quite steep. Definitely worth the walk - the fast flowing waterfall even in July was an amazing site and the cold spray very welcome after the long walk in the hot sunshine. Just...More

Some very steep steps, and there are multiple genuine opportunities for calamity. We were very glad our kids were well behaved and used good judgement. If they hadn't this would not have been a fun hike and we did see some very stressed parents. It...More

This is a stunning fall but those granite steps can be dangerous and slippery. You can reach this fall by climbing UP the 600 steps or by climbing down at the end of the Panorama hike.

A great trail mostly paved, when I first got there I expected a hike considering the way most people were dressed with hiking poles and hiking boots and here I am on board shorts a singlet and thongs (or flip flops if you are American)...More

We took this trail going to Vernal Falls. It's a trail that is connected to Nevada Falls too. The distance from the trail head (@ Happy Isles) to the foot bridge was about 1mi... from this point you'll trek a slowly ascending trail to another...More

This trail was much more difficult than I expected. I'm surprised it's so popular. We went on July 26 and it was HOT (90s) so we took many breaks in the shade along with most everyone else on the trail. The views were beautiful. I...More

We hiked up the mist trail to the Vernal & Nevada Falls. The mist trail up to the foot bridge is paved and very steep. Not an easy walk up, but doable for most. We reached the top of the Vernal falls with minimal spray...More

We passed mist trail and falls at the end of a longer hike from Glacier point down the panorama and mist trails. It was really amazing. We hiked down the trail which was pretty hard on the knees - however it would be more challenging...More

Small children would be OK but take frequent breaks and keep them in front of you so you can keep an eye on them. There are steep drop offs so they need to stay in the middle of the trail. As far as using a carrier you had... More

Hi I recommend asking questions like this on the Yosemite NP TripAdvisor forum page. The NPS suggests 5-6 hours for the hike. The Yosemite Hikes website suggests 5 hours. If you're descending the John Muir Trail, it's a... More
