Worth your time to drive down to the sequoias (about an hour south of the Yosemite valley). It's very well organized with tram service and clearly marked trails that provide a nice, brisk walk if you take the loop. The trees themselves are giant and...More

We was driving from Half Dome Village and took shuttle bus to Mariposa Grove. We tried moderate trail to Grizzy giant tree. It was great experience, especially learning a bit about giant sequoias.

After you park at the Visitors Center (which has a small gift shop), you hop on a shuttle for a short drive to the grove. This was very efficient with shuttles leaving every few minutes. The grove is beautiful and has well maintained wide walkways....More

What a great job they did, first class on everything. You park and take a shuttle to the Mariposa Grove. Walk is a little up hill but doable for most. Go in Spring or Fall to avoid the summer crowds.

We took the shuttle to Mariposa Grove around 6pm in the fall. We had about an hour to see the trees before it got dark (the last shuttle runs at 8pm). The hike to see the larger trees is actually a moderate effort required. We...More

Mariposa Grove provides a good introduction to the giant Sequoias in this part of the Sierra mountains. Not quite as impressive as the ones down the road (in Sequoia National Park), but beautiful and impressive nonetheless.

The 3 year restoration project (the largest in the park’s history!) was well worth it - it removed parking lots and added a beautifully constructed boardwalk that helps minimize the impact to the land & trees and allows a maximum number of visitors at all...More

Totally awed at the size and age of the redwoods. Words are difficult for me to find to describe the feelings that I experienced while exploring the Grove.

Done a brilliant job on the Grove, tracks are great with choices to suit everyone and shuttle bus system works really well! Few picnic tables would be nice but minor issue!

This is an older question, but folks should look at the NPS website to see the new trail map & mileages now that the 3 year restoration has been completed.
