    Lovely forrest
The forrest is beautiful and when i visited it wasn't to crowded. The problem was the busses where down and therefore you had to do a hike to the start of the trail before the real hike started. There where some beautiful sequoias in the park but not as much as aspected. All and all it do was special to see these beautiful trees in real life. Saw a family of wild deer on the end of the trail that made it extra special.

    First Sequoia Experience...Spectacular!
Absolutely loved getting o see sequoias for my first time ever...they were magnificent! This grove was at the far southwest part of the park and was a destination in itself, but very unlike the Valley area of Yosemite where we spent the rest of our time. The first couple of miles in this area are quite crowded but once you get beyond where most people go, it was very quiet and peaceful. We thoroughly enjoyed nearly a whole day there...with a picnic at the top overlooking a spectacular valley. Highly recommend visiting this spot!

    Watched cone harvesters
I enjoyed another hike among the Giant Sequoias with friends. This is one of my favorite areas of Yosemite National Park. In addition to many named and unnamed Giant Sequoias, we saw several bright red snow plants. This time we were lucky to be visiting when the Ancient Forest Society was collecting cones for the National Park Service. These amazing climbers were at the tops of several trees, harvesting cones for seed collection. I wish I had brought binoculars to watch these folks.

Beautiful place, lots of unique trees
This is not just a forest of any trees. It has a lot of sequoia trees with a different history of each. It does involve a little bit of hiking but the trees are nice to see. The bark on them does not feel like any other tree - very soft and touching overall. Came here as part of a tour we booked and did not go all the way up but still enjoyed the place overall.

This was our first stop in our 5 day trip to Yosemite. It was a relaxing and beautiful hike to start things off. We only did the easy loop. Went in September so shuttles were functioning.

The bus is the only way to get up here, unless you have handicapped placards, where you follow bus in. You will be walking between .1 miles or up to 5, depending on where you go.

Over-rated. This is truly the best way to describe this part of the park. Way over-crowded. There are other trails with the same thing that are less crowded.

Free walk, really accessible and well explained, you have the choice between differents loops depending on how much you wanna walk.
Don’t be afraid to go for a « strenuous » walk, they are more like mediums.
Concerning the walk itself, wonderful trail in the forest, delivering various landscapes including sadly too many ravaged trees destroyed by wildfires. Especially when approaching the end of the trail, the Wawona Point, where all the top of the hill is burned.
(By the way, the point of view at the top isn’t exceptional, the heart of the trail is the walk into the sequoias)
Protect nature :)

We’ve been to Muir Woods so wasn’t sure if this would be different…and it was. The trees are absolutely massive, tall and have been here for ages..literally. Loved being in the forest and getting to see this. Would highly recommend.
