A good trip on a modern purpose built boat. There was coffee and a bread roll with egg for breakfast, complimentary water. Naturally you go out to sea, to they also provided a sea sickness pill for those that wanted. There was no extra or hidden charges, with people free to view from both upper and lower decks. We went whale watching in early May with Whales Lanka. It was poor weather, so we were only looking for whales for 1 hour - not the fault of the operators, but a poor return on the cost. We can enthusiastically recommend using Whales Lanka as a company to organise a whale watching trip. We contacted the company from the UK and agreed arrangements over the internet with Mahesh. We went to make an early morning (6am) whales watching out 10 miles from Mirissa harbour (southern province 40 km under Galle). We've used a local fisherman boat, not really speed and confortable but good enough to make us happy to watch at whales passing from southern Sri lankan beaches to migrate to souther Indian ocean toward Antartide pole.
