Would not recommend. It was a 2hr bus ride (not their fault, but this added to our negative experience) for a 30 minute guide, and half of it was just watching a video. They made it seem like we could hold the alligators or interact with the animals. None of that happened. Very run down, small enclosures.

Very run down and dilapidated. The animal enclosures are poor and the range of animals is very small. The James Bond film footage was great. Our guide was very friendly and very informative. But the overall feeling was disappointment because of the poor state of the enclosures

This is a great attraction! I live in Jamaica so whenever family or friends visit I take them there. It is quite run down now due to lack of support, economic conditions and COVID. Regardless, it’s still worth a visit and the tour guides are dedicated and informative and the crocodiles spectacular. It really needs more support and an injection of capital to get it back to its original state.

Got a tour for just 4 of us. Very informative and interesting. Plus showed us the scene where James Bond jumps over crocodiles in Live and Let Die, which husband and son really enjoyed. The place isn't too big, and you'll need under an hour to visit. Don't know why more people don't visit here.

Absolutely brilliant day out. It was for my sons birthday and they made him feel really special when they found out it was his birthday.
The tour guide was really knowledgable. We got a private tour at a really reasonable price.
We all really enjoyed it and learnt so much about the animals and the local area. Would highly recommend.
We also got to hand feed the birds. What an amazing experience.

Where do I start? This is a very small zoo which could be so much better. I was expecting something along the lines of Gatorland in Florida, with walkways through the swamps looking at crocodiles in their natural habitats, with a few other natural species on show. it is very far from that - an escorted tour looking at birds and animals in small not very well looked after cages and lots of crocodiles in concrete ponds albeit with more natural swamp surroundings. One young capuchin monkey, gradually destroying its surroundings, two very unhappy raccoons pacing back and forth, one solitary deer, a couple of peccaries, some birds in a cage far too small and the obligatory snake brought out to handle. To be fair none of the animals looked ill but this is so far behind modern zoo thinking as to be out of sight, psychological welfare is as important as physical welfare. The end of the tour is taken up with being shown the place where a James Bond film was made and watching a 30 year old piece of video about its making. I'm sure the staff here care about what they are doing but like anything it needs a huge input of money to make it anything worth visiting, I came away angry and upset,

I recently went to this attraction whilst on holiday in Montego Bay. I have to say i didn't go with high expectations but i was left sadden by the conditions of some of the animals. As we moved on from seeing the crocs to the smaller species we passed several tiny cages each with a very hot, cramped and neglected rabbit inside. The guide went on to say they were food for the other larger animals - this should not mean that they spend their short lives in terrible conditions with little or NO water and no shade.
We then passed a very angry monkey pacing his cage, shouting and pulling at his bars in protest. His cage was not spacious and had nothing inside for his entertainment. In fact not many of the small animal enclosures had anything inside - I am aware there probably isn't any money available for such things but how hard would it be to put some branches/foliage in the cages from the various trees surrounding the premises.
The guide was very informative and friendly but unfortunately this for me was not enough.
I would not return to this place and i certainly wouldn't take young children.

I was very shocked that the animals were in very small cages (especially the rabbits) it was a very hot day and the rabbits were in direct sun with NO shade at all also the tour gide (as nice and informed as she was) felt the need to bang on cages to get the animals to move. I also felt that there were two meany crocs in the same space. Over all left felling sad and sorry for the amimals that would have to spend the rest of their life's there.

Wanted to visit here for the James Bond, Live and let Die crocodile experience however left very upset. The animals are in poor condition along with their environment, something should be done about this. Would not visit again. I am sure the founder would not be happy, and could someone please rescue that poor monkey?

To begin a tour at a place which warns you beforehand that the trespassers would be eaten sounds surely exciting to say the least. Situated in Falmouth, just a little further from the Martha Brae River, it is a fun place to spend some time with the crocodiles and birds there and to know a little more about them. If you have kids, they will surely enjoy the experience where they are encouraged to interact with the guinea pigs and rabbits. For the more daring there are the baby crocs and Jamaican Boa that you can hold on to. A photo shoot is also offered to preserve the memories of such a brave act!
The mangrove habitat houses many crocodiles, about which during your walking tour the guide would explain and you also get a chance to see them being fed that too pole-feeding. Though the main attraction here are the crocodiles (quite a few), this place also houses other animals like the Jamaican Coney, Agouti, Spotted Paca, Racoons and some birds and snakes. The place is like a small private zoo.
The tour takes nearly an hour and nearing the end, the scene from James Bond's move, Live & Let Die is shown - the scene was shot here when Ross Kananga convinced the movie producers to add this clip in the movie where he performed the stunt of jumping over the crocs in the pond. While the movie is on, your photographs (remember the photo shoot with the baby croc & the snake?) are printed for you if you have chosen to purchase them. Must admit, the photographs are a good show-off of a daredevilry which you might doubt you even have!
So when you are planning your Falmouth day trip especially if Martha Brae features in your itinerary, just spend a couple of hours here as it is very close by.
Tip : If you are a resident, be sure to ask for the local rate for the entrance and not the tourist rates.

I’m really interested in visiting The Swamp Village.
The problem I have is my husband is on crutches (recent accident) Do you think it’s ok to get around on crutches in your opinion?
Flat paths and the odd chair/seat?
Thank you for your feedback.
