Very beautiful natural beaty park. I would recommand to walk to the middle cave. It is something like 2 km from parking: refreshing air, and at the destination point you can find nice restaurant and an amazing cave. Real natural treasure.
Take a jacket! Since temperatre in the cave perhaps arround 10 degrees.

The walk to the cave is nice, cave itself interesting, but 15 minutes is enough to go to the end and go back. There is no tour, not a word about it and the region. However you get charged for entry and for the parking... and for the electric car to take you to the cave if you do not want to walk. The cave was nice, but it could have been soooo much more interesting. Overall I was a bit disappointed, but probably bad feeling was because I have seen already many caves. Reserve at least 3 hours if you want to walk both ways.

A little bit of a wonder outside the main city. Great trip for the family and fantastic if you prefer hikes and walks.

There is ONLY ONE cave which can be visited, and you can do it in 30 minutes.
Our tourguide did not speak English, so our local friend was the interpreter.
Inside temperature is around 5 Celsius, so warm clothes recommended.
There are several smaller picnic ares. along the walking route to the cave.
The current prices: entry to the park - 2 KM, entry to the cave - 3 KM.

Picked up by Ermin of Go Go Travel, we drove to the cave site for about an hour from Sarajevo through typical Bosnian countryside - steep sided hills covered in lush forest opening up to farmland filled with scattered villages.
After paying the entrance fees (included in the overall package), we climbed on board a small tram, similar to those sometimes found in large shopping malls. 10 minutes later, we arrived at the parking area, having passed through open fields of wild summer flowers and tall pine forests. A short walk from the parking area found us standing outside the entrance to the cave with four helpful information boards placed to one side. This cave was inhabited by modern humans over the past 10,000 years as stone tools and animal bones, especially those of bear, were discovered in an archaeological dig.
A guide met us there who took the small gathering of tourists into the cave. It is about 700m long and consists of several large chambers with ceilings full of stalactites connected by smaller passages. This cave system is not as colourful as others we have seen but the largest chamber is used as a music hall for audio recordings.
The temperature inside the cave hovers around 3-5 deg celsius so please wear a heavy jacket and wear closed shoes.
Opting to walk back to the van parked on the main road, we wandered through the forest and open fields, enjoying the sunshine and lovely nature. We stopped on the way back to Sarajevo for a quick lunch of a local sendvić (sandwich) of sliced meat and cream cheese.
Ermin was a delightful guide, sharing with us his life history and commentary on modern Bosnian life.

We arrived at the main gate at 10 am, entrance ticket 2 KM to the park. Waited 25 minutes for the mini train and then decided to start the walk to the cave 2.5 km till the train come. We paid 1 KM ticket. We arrived at the cave entrance at 11.05 am but had to wait the next batch entry at 12 pm. Cave entry 3 KM. Train back 1 KM and so on. A full unorganized train and entry arrangements to the cave. The only benefits is to sit and have a cup of coffee at the only Manuel Cafe.
Well, the cave visit was great, many steps up and down to get in there. Walkway was nice with good lighting inside. Many water drops and a great chance to take super photos. Simply walk to the end of the cave and come back the same way. Don’t forget to bring your jacket. The scenario for reaching back to the gate will start immediately after you go and wait for the train.

Bijambare Park not only offers the caves, but some fantastic examples of Stecci (ancient tombstones) and beautiful nature. This makes for a well rounded experience. One can come for the day and bring a picnic and enjoy the Alpine surroundings. There is also a restaurant near the cave site. Be sure to take a jacket along. The cave is quite cold, around 4 degrees celcius.

It is my first time going into a cave tour so I was very excited.
I liked that it is not big and not very long in distance and you can finish it quick.
Off course it is not recommended for people who cannot climb so much stairs, I struggled a little bit and had to stop several times ti catch my breath, yet it was worth the visit. The park in general is very beautiful and the air is clean and refreshing, the train ride from the park entrance was the children’s favourite. There is a cafe and a small playground before the cave’s entrance where We left the children to play under their grandparents watch and we went in.
I highly recommend visiting the place for picnic especially if the weather is wonderful as it was yesterday when we went.

Being that its just above 40km away from capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina (Sarajevo) with roads and nature you feel its like 10km. Drop the car in parking, grab a bike (your own or rent one) and enjoy most beautiful oxygen that can be provided in a long distance as its surroundings will give the mix of all natural minerals and mix it with Pine that will stay for long in your system. 3 caves are open for visit and that you should do, bring a jacket (usual) would say kids will enjoy seeing Batman but he moved to Hollywood :)
Almost forgot, there is peaceful restaurant that offers variety of Bosnian F&B and its always fresh and delicious, toilets available, barbecue areas with tents, so what more you can ask for. Enjoy.

It is a pity the whole place is not better organised - with a fixed timetable for the electric trains, allowing enough time that one reach the entrance to the Middle Cave (the one cave where entrance is paid for and which one can enter at the full hours). One should not miss climbing to the upper cave, and visit to stecci necropolis.

Can you get to the park on public transportation or only through a tour?
Written April 28, 2019
The park is in the country in a rather remote location and there isn't any public transport. One can rent a car in Sarajevo, or you may want to google Bosnian day tours. There are some private tour groups that go to different locations in the country.

There is (2 Bosina Mark =€1) at Park entrance and (3 Bosina Mark =€ 1.5 ) at Bijambare Cave entrance
