Me and my traveling partner wanted to do some hiking in Morocco's famous mountain ranges while on a two week trip to the country in february. we were keen to explore the many famous attractions of the high atlas, but were turned off by the cookie-cutter expeditions on offer that seemed to all follow the same very-heavily-trodden route, and having... spent two days in the mountains and cedar forests with Karim and Youssef who did everything to make my trip as interesting and enjoyable as possible. I also spent some time around the city of Azrou ,shared a meal with Karims family in their home where I was treated with great kindness and made to feel very welcome. All in... More

Our Guide Karim was passionate about the country we hiked and camped in, Karim was born in this area. This enthusiasm made the hike and overnight camp a memorable trip. We hiked from the village to the camping spot and were rewarded with seeing the apes as we neared the end of our hike. To top it off the apes... More

My husband has had a lifelong ambition to visit the cedar forest, and was not disappointed, describing the walk up from Azrou through the different vegetation zones to our wonderful campsite on the grass underneath the giant cedars as "one of the most memorable days of my life." We enjoyed the botany, geology, birds, glimpse of the High Atlas covered... More

Dear Julia W family & friends, I also hold the same passion for the cedar forest enchantment and wild camping, so know why you were buzzing whilst there. I’m pleased we had our Q&A telephone conversation before you booked; it enabled Karim & I to customise your visits wish list. “Bravo to you all” that’s quite an accent up to... More

In planning a three-day stay in Fes, our family, including our 23-year-old daughter, wanted to experience first-hand the landscape of the Middle Atlas. We contacted Karim through Morocco Unexplored. He tailored a day hike for us in the cedar forest near Azrou, including transportation (he met us in Fes, with a driver, at precisely the appointed time), a hike geared... More

Nice one, aschwartz10100 “Every cloud has a silver lining,”… I’m so glad to hear the downpour didn't dampen your spirit of adventure/appetite, and that you all still had a pleasurable middle Atlas experience with us in the wonderful cedar forest above Azrou. Many thanks for your support, vivid review & photos. Best wishes Dave. More

I was only in Azrou for two days and one night while the weather was cold and rainy (which is the only reason my trip doesn't get an "Excellent" review), however, while I was there with Morocco Unexplored my guide, Karim, made me feel more than welcome and showed me around town before we went fishing. There is no doubt... More

My husband and i have just returned from Morocco. We stayed in Fes and then went to Azrou a small town about 2 hours from Fes. We chose Azrou because we wanted to go walking in the country and see the Berber apes. We found Morocco Unexplored by accident on the internet but I would recommend this company very highly.... We were a party of four, two couples (one in their late 30s, one late 60s) who wished to explore the cedar forests of the middle Atlas mountains. Fortunately we found the website of Morocco unexplored in April and booked our two night hiking trek for September. David, in London, was very helpful as I bombarded him with questions by... More

I went fishing for two weekends (one all-day trip and one 2-day overnight) in lakes outside of Azrou (a city in Morocco) with this service. Both of the lakes were beautiful mountain lakes which could have just as easily been in Montana as in Africa. Loved the relaxed atmosphere and had a great guide Karim for both trips. The scenery... Nice photos Toshiro thanks for sharing them, I’m glad you had a great time with us. Karim said you’ve caught the fishing bug big time. So next visit you should try the newly opened fly fishing (catch & release) lake stocked with rainbow trout. Many thanks Dave More
