Finally, I was able to catch a glimpse of Dimtcho Debelyanov's life, which has been a common theme in his poetry- namely his home, his mother, his way of living in the small Koprivshtitsa town. The house of the poet is rather small but somehow cozy. What surprised us was the modest ceiling height. The voiceover in the rooms was... More

This is the house of Dimcho Debelyanov, a Bulgarian poet. It was impossible to take pictures inside when I visited there. But the garden was so lovely and beautiful. This house is one of my favorite houses in Bulgaria!

Beautiful house. When you start your visit of the historic monument houses, ask for the grouped ticket price which allows you entry in 6 houses. This is one of them.

Along with homes of rebels/merchants, the Debelyanov house is lovely - he perished at such a young age, it is kind of sad reading his literary work, he was rather prescient about his own demise - you will learn much about Bulgaria & the struggle for independence from this and the other homes that are available to tour. Then go... More

This house is not just an interesting example of Bulgarian architecture but a good record of the life of the poet Dimcho Debelyanov. The man in charge enabled us to listen to Dimcho's poetry as we toured the house, backed by very suitable music. The story of Dimcho's short life is very moving, as is his poetry. It is highly... One of the best features of this house is the sweet statue in the front garden. I believe it is of the poet's mother. Well worth a visit.
