the museum associated with the pousada is very informative and well designed. Interesting collection of materials with excellent explanatory plaques and good lighting on the displays. Provides great historical context. The dig site adjacent to the parking lot was also fascinating

The restoration of the castle allowed to discover many layers of diverse civilizations over the last thousands of years. Well presented with a unique Roman crypta.

You can see this entire crypt in an hour. It is fine if you have an interest in ancient diggings. The display descriptions are in English as well as Portuguese which is appreciated by those of us who only speak English.

Well worth a visit to this museum and crypt, situated below the Pousada. Just €3 entry, a nice short film giving the history of the town, then lots to see in the crypt. Well worth an hour of your time
