One of the best walks we’ve ever done

Hi, does anyone know if it is possible to hike out of Villa Nova De Millfontes and pick up the Historical Way (S.Luis to Cercal Do Alentejo) trail just north? I'm planning a trip next spring, hiking alone and (having done quite a bit of hiking in Portugal) don't want to meet any nasty farm dogs or displease any farm owners. Thanks. Amanda

Answer

We went from Nova de Milfantes to Ilha do Pessegueiro (16km, 6hrs - hard work in the sand) to Cercal do Alentejo (15km, 5hrs easy),staying at Ilha do Pessequeriro.
