Only walls and a church is what remains. Interesting, with nice views. Church was closed, so it was disappointing.

This castle is old, and as such, there's not much there other than ruins. That said, head up there to see some incredible views of the surrounding landscape.

In fact all there is here are walls and a church on the hill which was closed when we visited it. The surrounding area is badly looked after, giving the appearance of being abandoned.

Great views from the castle walls over the surrounding countryside, as you would expect from its high viewpoint. Quaint church inside the walls, which is still occassionally used.

The castle has no attraction, in addition to the beautiful Alentejo landscape that is seen around it

Staying a the local Pousada we could see the fortress from our balcony. Nothing much to see as regards the structure but amazing views

You can either walk up or drive. Driving is a challenge and the road is narrow and not in great shape. Either way, it's worth it as the views are wonderful. It's an interesting place to be as it just reeks of history. The wall...More

Castle dominates its immediate area and consists of a curtain wall with a ruined keep in one corner. Entrance is free with no apparent custodians in evidence. It is possible to drive into the site via a single lane two way track.

We undertook a nice after lunch walk to the summit and it was well worth the effort. The countryside was bathed in flowers and looked beautifully green. The castle walls are well maintained and are a delight to climb up to for the views.
