a wonderful well preserved castle worth visiting in any season of the year, with lots of attractions inside and toip views over town
The castle location is the highest point in the region. Therefore, the view is great on sunset when we came. Easy to find, 3 minutes walking from the historical center of Belmonte.

It is very small but it was clean and well treated. The exposition was kind of weak. It isn't possible to go to the best parts of the castle The price is only 2 euros

In fairness many things were closed the day we here, but the castle is well preserved and the walks and climbs are quite rewarding.
we visited this castle at day and afterwards at night. It is spectacular to watch it by night. We didn't visited inside as it was closed when we arrived at Belmonte.
An interesting historical perspective of the area. Interesting documents that gives the background of the discovery of Brazil.
