Plaza is in front of the castle , which is now a luxury Parador. History is all over. Buildings are of that unique Basque style and are charming. You can walk to the town and San Pedro street from here. Lively at night with restaurants and a few boutiques.

Plaza de Armas is a gem of the Hondarribia old town dominated by the mighty medieval fortress known as the Castle of Charles V, which is a home to the imposing Parador de Hondarribia now.
You can sample some really good pintxos in several colorful taverns (we really liked the tavern called “Antxiña”), admire the views of the sea, walk around the Castle, buy souvenirs in the lovely boutiques... Such a wonderful place to enjoy the charms of the Basque Country.

Full of history on all sides, plus Tourist Information Office and refreshment options. So much to see, with views over the river. Tourist Office staff were helpful but we felt there could have been more information available in written form.

This is a must visit spot. Lovely old square with fine houses, restaurants and a parador hotel that dominates.

Great for people watching all the atmosphere is here. The only down side is that the food tends to be the same everywhere you go.

We found this plaza to be very pretty, in the center of the old town with some lovely simple houses around, flower boxes full of geraniums. You will also find some cafes for sitting and eating.

Reached via an uphill walk, this is a very charming square in Hondarribia. There are some lovely buildings that surround the square making for some good photo opportunities.

It’s a very nice place with a fantastic view. The place has very typical houses and there’s also a nice Parador which was a castle before. You have to walk about 10 minutes from the harbour to reach this place.

A charming little square with lovely architecture and a beautiful view of the Bidasoa river with a picturesque backdrop of southern France.

Great sightseeing views and a Castle hotel-Parador to see its hall or to stay. This spot is the end of a great village visit.
