I was looking for ‘Firing’ glasses used when making toasts. Tried every where I knew but no luck. Went to the Ruskin Centre, what a surprise. A variety of Worksop studios selling all types of glass ware. And guess what? One of them had exactly...More

Most recent visit was for the 2017 British Glass Biennale. There was a fantastic buzz about the place, and some amazing exhibits on show. I particularly respect the generosity of the individual artisans, both in their display of their crafts, and in sharing those skills...More

Whilst the retail outlets are fair, but very pricey, the cafe has deteriorated over the past 12 months or so. They used to have decent cakes etc but now they are awful. If you live locally it is quite pleasant to walk along the canal...More

My wife and I had a full day glassblowing lesson with Martin Andrews in his workshop. It was a fantastic experience, we learnt a lot and made some very nice pieces of glass, that we will treasure for a long time. Well worth the visit...More

while visiting this centre we were fortunate enough to encounter several of the craftspeople working in their units, who were happy to answer questions and talk about their crafts. The bio cafe is very good - we has quiche and salad which was excellent.

The centre shares a site with a college (which is a good thing!) but as a first-time visitor, it's difficult to make hear or tail of where you are or what's about. There wa some fascinating glass blowing going on, but the glassmaker didn't make...More

I took some chipped crystal here for repair. They use an abrasive wheel to grind a bit away so that the chip disappears. The place is very interesting. There are modern crystal shops jewellery shops and a variety of artisan crafts. Nice tea shop.

Hi Rose I've not been on a course so can't answer, I'm afraid. I'd suggest giving them a call. However, they do have a Christmas Craft & Vintage Fayre on November 25th & 26th which would be worth visit. Cheers Annie
