The Welsh Highland Railway is a very short but fun narrow gauge steam railway experience. The actual trip is fairly quick (it’s only a mile or so) but there’s lots of time to look at the exhibits in the engine shed which are very interesting....More

Visited here with 2 teenagers and a 3year old, the volunteers were out of this world. They took my wife on a solo train ride and then my teenager. Everyone took turns in changing the track points on a real train signal. The volunteers were...More

A magical little line full of history and fun for the children and adults. The cafe has good quality hot and cold food with lovely Welsh cakes that went well with the tea and coffee. The people were very welcoming and made us feel quickly...More

Not to be confused with the main Welsh Highland railway this short section is ideal for anyone who does not have time or has travelled on the other narrow gauge railway. I decided to opt for the footplate experience which was very good. The train crew...More

A must do if you are ever in the area. Great for train fanatics, children or people who like to do something different. The whole experience is about 1 hour long and the staff are very friendly and lots to tell you about how the...More

The kids loved this trip, but it’s way too short. The journey couldn’t have lasted more than 5 mins each way, and only the stop off at the railway museum saved it really. The kids got to go on an even shorter ride on the...More

Interesting visit as others report but this railway needs to get together with the other Welsh Highland railway and run further rather than opposing each other. I noted they do have a junction with each other but politics of each other getting in the way....More

Not sure as I've not got a dog, but other railway does as there were dogs on and big dogs were hard to pass on the small trains. I'm sure the website will tell you.
