It's a lovely beach and, as others have said, looks lovely on photos although not for swimming. It's a shame that there aren't any litter bins as the debris (some seaborne others just dumped) do take the edge of the otherwise idyllic scene.

Bottom Bay is a fantastic beach in the Rugged East past of the Island. The scene looking over the beach from the rocks is fantastic and if you dare to venture in the sea will take you for a roll.

Although we didn't go swimming here due to the huge waves it was by far our favourite beach in Barbados! There was one other couple enjoying the beach while we were visiting and it made you feel like you were on your own private paradise...More

Bottom Bay is breathtaking. The views from the top of the hill are great. The beach is sandy with turquoise water, cliffs and a big cave. This is a wonderful place for photos. But, the water is too rough for average swimming.

Excellent for pictures, however the beach itself isn't suitable for swimming and because it's only accessible by stairs, it isn't suitable for the disabled. Still, there is a great view from the cliff above overlooking the beach.

Hire a car, take a book and chill out on this beautiful beach on the south east of the island. Dramatic ocean, empty sands and no one to bother you.

If you're to see one beach, this is the one. Postcard perfect though not for swimming. It is one of these moments when you see something perfect. Take a seat with you and drink it all in.

The beach is gorgeous and definitely something to see in Barbados. You certainly can't get in the water here as it's too rough, but there's a little cave to venture in and cliffs to walk on and watch the waves crash into the island from....More

Bottom Bay is a must do when visiting Barbados. It is a stunning beach with looming cliffs on either end, white sand, aqua water and the obligatory palm trees. The guy standing at the top of the path is a bit of a character and...More

This is a beautiful east coast beach, with good road connection and easy access down a short path; it has beautiful white sand and an interesting shallow cave to explore, but the water is rough and there is no lifeguard or support service. A family...More

The road is kind of off-road and really rough yet you drive literally through residential areas until you make it to a small parking "lot" on the rocks/dirt (can't miss it). I don't recall the signs, we used the google maps... More

i would look into Sapphire Beach condos. We just stayed there and we know the owners of a few condos. Very safe, Guards on duty, gated. Nice restaurants very close. Feel free to ask me for more details.

Its a bit in the middle of nowhere so you need a car and there are no bars or restaurants near by. Being on the beach alone, although seemed safe, may be a little daunting for a lady alone, but the locals and beach sellers... More
