We were visiting the Summerland area and thought we'd stop by to take a photo of the Kettle Valley Steam engine and cars. We knew it was not running until May 20. Bit disappointed that engine was in repair shop and couldn't take a photo. However staff very friendly and knowledgeable about area .

All Aboard!! Ride the historic Kettle Valley Railway and get a glimpse of the past in the present. Featuring an immaculately preserved 1912 Steam Engine you will glide the rails past vineyards, orchards, vistas and over a deep gorge while crossing the Trout Creek Trestle bridge. Sat back and soak in the incredible views but always keep an eye out for bandits!

Family friendly, great for couples and fit for wine lovers!

We were looking for a Magical Christmas train ride and unfortunately the Magic was very far from being there. No warm welcome but rather just process to get your tickets, then we got hot chocolat that was actually "warm" served from a plastic brown tub! Once inside the train, the conductor didn't look very professional, dragging his feet as he walk back and forth giving us little stories of bridge or crossing. Christmas music kept on cutting out, Christmas lights in the second car didn't work either. We travelled for 30mins uphill with not much to do then look outside and then the train travelled back downhill from where it came from and at that time Santa & Mrs Claus made their way in our car to give candy cane and take photo with family. Not much magic at all, no productions or sign along or Christmas Joy all around, just a business train.... Very sad and dissapointed, I guess The Polar Express is truly is a Movie Magic Production or maybe Kettle Valley could go learn a thing or two from the Alberta Christmas Polar Express!

We enjoyed the overall experience of riding the train and the Christmas decorations of the train and station. I will say that I was disappointed that the entertainer was not wanting to participate in the Christmas spirit of singing Christmas carols. I get it that maybe it is not his favourite - but this was advertised as a CHRISTMAS TRAIN, including Santa. Fortunately (or not) I had a large group of family with children and we provided our own entertainment of Christmas Carols.

It is always a treat to travel on this wonderful railway. My wife and I did the Christmas Special. The gift of a cup of hot chocolate on arrival was a very welcome surprise, but the Christmas elements were a bit of a disappointment. Sure, there was a Santa and Mrs Santa. But it would have been easy to print off the words of a few favourite carols and have a sing-along on board. Instead, the sound system kept repeating the same few songs. Maybe next year?

The Christmas Train was just massive & beautiful inside and out as it pulled into the station! We just loved all the lights and the amazing condition of the vintage cars interiors. The colored lights inside and traditional Christmas carols really set the festive mood. All the staff and Conductor were extremely kind & clearly enjoy working with such an awesome machine. Santa's visit was especially good with all the little passengers on board. Thank you for the absolutely wonderful experience. Our whole family enjoyed the evening and hope to board again for a summer ride. Thank you for a really lovely Christmas memory to share with our friends & family.

Everything about a steam engine train ride at Christmas with all the lights and Christmas music sounds amazing...and it was. The hot chocolate was a nice touch and the employees were great to deal with. Even Santa was a nice addition. The only thing I might add is a game perhaps or a draw of some kind to pass the time. There is nothing really to look at whereas that would be a different scenario in the Summer. All in all, we enjoyed the ride, and we are very glad we did it. Look forward to the Summer Robber!

Really something to put you in the Christmas Spirit! Lots of adoring parents and grandparents sharing the nostalgia of a steam train ride with their children of all ages with the added bonus of a personal visit from Santa. (He was wonderful!) Also aboard were senior citizens, like myself and my friends, thrilling in memories of train rides of our youth. Two of our group had actually never ridden a train before - So what a thrill for them! Hot chocolate was served in the waiting room before we boarded. The train itself was decoarated with Christmas lights inside and out. The carriages had old luggage and wrapped parcels as decor on the luggae racks. The train conductor was very jolly and obviously enjoyed his work. A live entertainer leading carol singing would have made it all perfect but that was not to be. Christmas music was piped through the two carriages. All in all a wonderful experience
