    Old Time Train Ride
My friend and I spent 5 days in the Okanagan Valley and wanted to be sure to do this train ride..we are glad we did. It is reminiscent of days gone by when everyone rode trains. It's about an hour and a half to two hour train ride and we spent time and money in their excellent gift shop. We met a very friendly conductor and the lady volunteer in our coach was a kind, sweet person..The people on vacation help make the trip a success..

Ride the train, stay in the caboose!!
Amazing steam train with great scenery. Incredible staff that made each group feel so special. Book online in advance and book the seats ‘on the bottom’ of the train car to get the best views of the valley. If looking for a place to stay there’s a great little caboose tiny house to rent on airbnb which just brings the magic of the train ride all together! There’s not an association with the company that runs the train and the airbnb but you can tell the decor is authentic from the KVR. Both are magical alone but even better combined!

Steam train, train robbery, buffet FUN
This is an a not to be missed experience. It was so well done and so much fun. I'm very impressed with the volunteers complete participation. As a passenger you cannot help but appreciate all the hard work to make this a unique fun experience. So well organized from the time of checking in your tickets to loading, offloading passengers. They are so patient. How they manage to be happy is the sweltering heat wearing the costumes - Kudos to each and every participant. AND ALL the "ill-gotten gains" go to local/Summerland your charities. And, oh my gosh, the buffet - that was so impressive; lots of good, great variety, yummy!! Make sure you bring lots of water, wear a hat, and cool clothing! To be enjoyed by tourists and locals!!

Stepping Back into the Past: The Great Train Robbery
What an enjoyable and entertaining time we had as we rode on the steam-powered train! We chose the Winslow, an open-air car, and the beautiful autumn weather was a bonus as we travelled down the track to the trestle bridge and back. We were so pleased to have plenty of photo & video opportunities throughout the duration of our trip. Once on board, we were regaled with historical facts about the railway, and serenaded by a guitar playing Cowboy, who encouraged us to sing along with him. And of course, everyone was excited when we were “robbed” by the Garnet Valley Gang, who rode in with their horses and realistic sound effects! At the end of our journey, we were treated to a delicious meal under the pavilion, with music provided, once again by “The Cowboy”. We will definitely be back, next time with family and friends!

This was fun, informative and great pace for our little ones. I could see it being a hit for all ages though! Beautiful views, and a well organized tour. Great staff too!

We were visiting the Summerland area and thought we'd stop by to take a photo of the Kettle Valley Steam engine and cars. We knew it was not running until May 20. Bit disappointed that engine was in repair shop and couldn't take a photo. However staff very friendly and knowledgeable about area .

All Aboard!! Ride the historic Kettle Valley Railway and get a glimpse of the past in the present. Featuring an immaculately preserved 1912 Steam Engine you will glide the rails past vineyards, orchards, vistas and over a deep gorge while crossing the Trout Creek Trestle bridge. Sat back and soak in the incredible views but always keep an eye out for bandits!

Family friendly, great for couples and fit for wine lovers!

We were looking for a Magical Christmas train ride and unfortunately the Magic was very far from being there. No warm welcome but rather just process to get your tickets, then we got hot chocolat that was actually "warm" served from a plastic brown tub! Once inside the train, the conductor didn't look very professional, dragging his feet as he walk back and forth giving us little stories of bridge or crossing. Christmas music kept on cutting out, Christmas lights in the second car didn't work either. We travelled for 30mins uphill with not much to do then look outside and then the train travelled back downhill from where it came from and at that time Santa & Mrs Claus made their way in our car to give candy cane and take photo with family. Not much magic at all, no productions or sign along or Christmas Joy all around, just a business train.... Very sad and dissapointed, I guess The Polar Express is truly is a Movie Magic Production or maybe Kettle Valley could go learn a thing or two from the Alberta Christmas Polar Express!

We enjoyed the overall experience of riding the train and the Christmas decorations of the train and station. I will say that I was disappointed that the entertainer was not wanting to participate in the Christmas spirit of singing Christmas carols. I get it that maybe it is not his favourite - but this was advertised as a CHRISTMAS TRAIN, including Santa. Fortunately (or not) I had a large group of family with children and we provided our own entertainment of Christmas Carols.

It is always a treat to travel on this wonderful railway. My wife and I did the Christmas Special. The gift of a cup of hot chocolate on arrival was a very welcome surprise, but the Christmas elements were a bit of a disappointment. Sure, there was a Santa and Mrs Santa. But it would have been easy to print off the words of a few favourite carols and have a sing-along on board. Instead, the sound system kept repeating the same few songs. Maybe next year?
