Giant's head Summit is a perfect place to take on the views and see the area.
There are two ways to get to the top. You can park your car at the bottom and walk up, which is about 45 min to and hour. You follow a road up, but you can also cut straight up through the worn trails.
You can also drive up to the parking lot on top and walk 5 mins up to Summit.
Worth the effort for the view. It does get windy, so be prepared. No washrooms, water or any facilities.

As a local, I have taken many, many guests up Giants Head Mountain to view the surroundings. One can drive up the narrow, somewhat steep asphalt road to the parking lot - where there are washroom facilities. Then, a 10-20 minute walk up to the viewing area. The last bit can be a bit tricky depending on the time of year - there are two options - straight up and a windy route.
During the heat of the summer, it's advisable to go early mornings. If driving up is your choice, be sure to cheek the signs because the park closes at night and there is a gate that is locked that one can walk around, but not drive through. I would advise walking poles, runners (sturdy footwear,) water, and a camera for the first-timers. At the top, where the time capsule has been buried, there is a viewing area from which different locations are identified. If you're lucky, you might see the Kettle Valley Railway train winding its way around the Prairie Valley.
There are pull-outs on the way up, with a few picnic tables, so if the climb is too challenging, those folks can still enjoy the view!!

Whether you are a tourist or a local, hiking the Giant is a remarkable experience - for the views - for the scenery - for the exercise! The summit (an extinct volcano) of Giant's Head affords a 360 degree view of the valley and the azure water of the lake. Recommended in all seasons!

Four of us (Seniors) walked to the top of this spectacular lookout and it was well worth the trek. The view in all directions was great and although there were lots of people up there it didn't seem at all crowded. Good shoes, water and your camera, for sure.

We walked/hiked to the top and oh baby it was worth it.
The trail is mostly paved bit dont let that influence you. The views are spectacular. A nice moderate hike that shouldn't take more than 3 hours up and back

We did not like the drive to and from the parking lot. It was too narrow and dangerous because of all the people walking, biking and driving up and down. But the view when you get to the top is amazing!

We were going to drive up to the trailhead but the gate was still locked for the season (March 30,2018)....so we hiked up. Loooong hike up switchback paved road, took about 45 minutes. We did stop at a few of the benches on the way up to enjoy the view and took a few of the shortcuts along the way. There is an outhouse at the top parking lot, thankfully, and then it is another 15 minutes or so up. (No water, so bring your water bottle) The trail wasn't marked and it looked like there were several different trails up. Awesome view at the top and well worth it. Not for little kids unless you want to carry them.

The winding road leads to a parking lot where you can walk to the top for great views of the whole area. Or better still leave your car at the bottom and walk up to the top.

This is the only trail I've experienced consisting of an asphalt road nearly up to a mountain summit! The summit is at 2771 feet, and yields beautiful views of the surrounding Summerland town, valley orchards, and Lake Okanagan. The road winds/switchbacks through pine forests and grasslands, and is popular with locals (we visited on a Sunday, and met many people walking up, and a few longboarders, too!). We kept a relatively leisurely pace, but enough to give us a bit of a workout (I reached the summit in approx. 45 minutes). Due to the grade, I believe wheelchair accessibility would be challenging. The summit is well-marked as well. I would recommend this for excellent views and a nice experience. No toilets, but benches and a few picnic tables are available (and a garbage bin at the end of the pavement). Suggest to bring water for the walk/hike.
