Bottom line, this is a must-do on a visit to Cape Breton Island. We saw tons of puffins, bald eagles, cormorants, and other seabirds in addition to seals. Very detailed tour and a great value. My only complaint is that while the captain and his...More

We are glad that you enjoyed the tour, wildlife, and the scenery. We will try to improve our question responses so that doesn't happen again. Thank you for letting us know, though. -Sheila

I really wanted to see puffins when we visited Nova Scotia. An email to Bird Island Boat Tour helped us adjust our arrival date so we would see the puffins before they headed out to sea after breeding season. Captains Vince and Ian Van Schaick...More

Two mature couples took the trip to Bird Islands. Lots of puffins (focus of the trip) Many other birds including eagles. Lots of seal. The captains boys did the trip which made it extra nice. Pleased to see what a neat family business they have

We had a very successful trip. A lot of puffins, bald eagles, cormorants... other types as well, and seals on the rocks and in the water. The Captain was very informative (sometimes a bit too much, lol). We thoroughly enjoyed this.

I've wanted to see puffins ever since reading Enid Blyton's "Island of Adventure" (that dates me, but I don't care). Anyhow...fun trip, reasonably priced, very knowledgeable people, comfortable boat. We went mid August and I'd called up to check whether the puffins were still around,...More

We were there after most Puffins had migrated, but had a wonderful time anyway. Lots of birds, with a great narration of the birds, history, and geography of the area. Also a great place to stay the night before in their cabins -- #6 had...More

Best excursion on our Holland America tour. Lots of gray seals, puffins, bald eagles and beautiful views of this amazing area. I would love to come back and do it again.

Like other reviews, we really enjoyed the narration of the father/son team (basically the whole duration of the tour!), and saw so, so many puffins, bald eagles, seals, and many other birds to create a spectacular life-long memory. We got so close-up - our pictures...More

Yes, you can bring a babe in a carrier . Both our boys were on the boat before their first birthday. Very safe, and they tend to fall asleep with the rocking motion. Sheila
