Thought some of the reviews were a little tough on this place, sure it's not Canada's Wonderland, but our kids had fun on the go karts, bumper cars, batting cages and mini-golf (which must have been overhauled since that one review, we thought it was fine)

Nice folks running the place, we were there in September so things were quieter, but everything was up and running (while all the other Cavendish parks and rides were closed)

The one suggestion I would make is helmets for the go karts, I was a little worried for my little guy as he hit the tire barracades and cornered a little too fast, and I was concerned about a a possible rollover.

Otherwise, we didn't go with sky-high expectations and had fun for the money we spent.

Spent an afternoon at Burlington Amusements with the family (mom, dad and kids 13 & 11). Kids had a great time with the bumber cars, go karts (multiple tracks) and we all played a round of mini-golf. The facility also has batting cages and bumper boats. All the core equipment for the rides were in good working order.

When deciding if Burlinton Amusements is your type of place, please keep in mind that this is a "mom and pop" operation, not a large amusement park. If you want to spend a few hours doing some stuff with the kids, this may be right up your ally.

My friend and I sat and watched four teenagers (ages14 - 19) race around the track many times - we had gone on the night where you could buy a pass allowing unlimited rides. Well they had so much fun, laughed so much, that we actually enjoyed their having fun. They all agreed they would love to visit again. I was happy to sit inside, watch the action, and chat with others watching their children and grandchildren.

Had a birthday party group. Spent over $250 dollars. Got kicked of the main thing they went there for (GoKarts) Tried to bring it up with staff. We were treated very poorly and didn’t even get offered a partial refund. And there staff is always right so I would most denfinetly advise to keep away and spend your money where it’s appreciated!

We visited on a Sunday, Sept. 15. The person/people who own/run this establishment have put a fair amount of effort into making it very clear about size restrictions on the go-carts. Oddly enough, even though it wasn't very busy that day, I had to deal with 3 different children who were very clearly too small to properly control these carts.
On my first 5 lap session, there was a child who was very dangerous to drive around because he was pretty much just hanging onto the steering wheel. Except for the two laps that he spent off the track stuck in the grass, I was stuck behind him, because he was always very erratic and would steer into the front of my cart every time I tried to pass. This was unintentional on his part.
On my second 5 lap session, there was another child like the one described above, plus another sweet little boy who didn't like being passed. Even though it is written in big block letters on the rear of every cart, "NO BUMPING", he tried very hard to force me off the track twice. This WAS intentional.
I don't understand why they don't simply allow these younger drivers to go on the track with family only. It wasn't busy. I would have happily waited to go 5 minutes later, had it been explained to me what was going on. I didn't think to examine all the drivers before getting into my cart, because I simply assumed that all small children would be in the two seater carts with a driver of adequate size/ability.
Basically, we each spent $8 for each 5 lap session. There were children driving, who should have been driving on their other track for smaller children. The carts were certainly not in great shape. Most people walked away from the carts with wet behinds because the seats were all wet. And, to top it all off, the proverbial icing on the cake was a teen-age boy playing in the kiddie's play house with all the plastic balls, which is inside by the ticket counter. He was throwing ball after ball out into the public area where people had to go to purchase tickets. The staff SHOULD HAVE put an end to his nonsense immediately...they did nothing...shame on them...shame on him...and double shame on his parents/guardians.
Needless to say, I'll never return, and I'll tell everybody who will listen about my experience.

One thing I definitely wanted to do on our Island vacation was to take Kevin Jr. on some go-karts. He was too short for everything last time but that was two years ago so his hopes were high for this time around. (I measured him before we left just to make sure).

We went to Sandspit first and the go-karts there were fun, but we saw a sign for Burlington Go-Karts. The kid working there gave us a brochure with a handy map and we set out. The park is a tiny little place in the middle of nowhere but it seemed to be a mecca for go-kart fans.

They had two large tracks but my son was only tall enough for the Thunderbolts so we went on those. The track was huge (the kid said a half mile) with lots of fun banked turns and 'S' curves. The karts were a lot faster than other tracks we have been to but they needed it on a track that big.

After our ride I tried the other track (NASKARTS) which were these little stock car go-karts a lot like the NASCAR speedpark in Tennessee that race on a short oval track. I was on with three other dads and we had a blast...maybe too much fun since I ended up in the tires just as we were finishing the race.

The park also had batting cages, mini golf and bumper cars, and bumper boats. We stayed long enough to try all of them and then went on the go-karts one more time. All in all it was a great boys day out while the girls were doing some Anne of Green Gables stuff.

My sister and I went here with a few friends last summer. Never laughed so hard. A very good track if you like go-karts.

Burlington Amusement Park is a bit off the beaten path in relation to the busy Cavendish area (approx 25 minute drive). There are 2 main go-kart tracks and 1 additional tracks for younger kids. The main track has 4 cars where a child can ride with an adult. The carts we used worked great and are easy to operate. The track needs to be fixed up...way too bumpy in areas. You get 5 laps for 8 tickets (we bought 100 tickets for $75 so this works out to about $6 per ride (approx $1.20 per lap if you want to get technical). There were only 2 teenagers working the track to get the race started and assist if a car went off the track/stalled). Overall in the park, there were not enough staff (had to flag someone down to come take our tickets at the bumper cars). Seatbelts in the cars are in disrepair and need to be replaced. I honestly don't think they have been replaced in 25 years. Younger kids that race with an adult are required to wear a bike helmet. No effort is taken by staff to ensure it fits, just that it sit on their head. No check was down to ensure seat belt was secure.
The Nascar course is only available to riders 64" or taller. For some reason they don't have the sign telling you this at the start of the path leading to the track but at the entrance to this track....save me the walk (200 feet) and put the sign in the area of ticket purchase.
Mini-golf: Perhaps the worst mini-golf I have ever seen. Debris covering each hole. Lake in middle of course covered in algae. No scorecards available.
Batting Cages: 5 options available, 3 softball (55km, 70km, 110km) 2 hardball (70km, 110 km). These take coins instead of tickets - 1 coin = 2 tickets = 10 balls. But actual coin machine don't work and staff is required to start the machine. Why not do away with the coins folks?

Overall, if you LOVE go karts, I would say consider this place. Other than that, I wouldn't bother.

Sandspit in Cavendish also has a track but I believe go-karts cost an additional fee on top of a bracelet.

We’re quite sorry your visit to Burlington Amusement Park didn’t meet your expectations. We take pride in our facility and the experience of each customer is important to us. In the spring of 2010 we undertook the largest renovation and improvement plan since the park was re-opened in 2002. I think many of the improvements will address the points you have made. Large portions of our 1/3 mile track were re-paved, including the eastern straightaway which had the largest bumps. The mini-golf course was completely rebuilt including new carpet and bumpers for all 18 holes as well as all new motorsports themed signage and scorecards. The water element in the centre of the course was removed and replaced with a large deck and picnic area. Each go-kart was refurbished including replacing seatbelts where needed, new paint for each kart replacement of worn padding and backrests and mechanical upgrades where needed. Each attraction is thoroughly inspected every morning to insure correct operation and safety. Signage was updated throughout the park and as always, all of our height restrictions are prominently displayed on our main pricing sign as well as at the entrance to each attraction. As you stated, our batting cages require tokens, not tickets and the coin mechanisms at each pitching machine do require some maintenance. Problems with the coin mechanisms are typically temporary and usually involve removal of a foreign object from the coin slot. This task is typically left to the maintenance crews however, not the general park staff. Further improvements also include replacement of all of our bumper boats and the pool liner, enhancements to the building housing our bumper cars, construction of a new queuing area for the Thunderbolt track and the addition of a second night each week to our very popular bracelet night events. Pictures of the improvements can be viewed on our website and we do hope you will give the park a second chance. We would also welcome an email with any additional comments you may have.

Feeling dissapointed and taken advantaged of, we recently attended the unlimited race night but there was nothing unlimited about it even if you take the suggestion and arrive right at 6. In the matter of 3 hours we only were able to ride the go karts three times! The WAIT times are rediculous! We waited nearly 45 minutes between rides! That’s unacceptable for what one expects for unlimited racing for 26.50 where you expect to get a deal! The only person getting a deal is the amusement park and I hope it’s to pay their staff good, as the young fellas that work the go kart track are the only reason the review gets an extra star because they did do the best they could given the circumstances. My suggestion for the track owner would be to limit how many unlimited brackets are sold for unlimited race nights so that when people buy passes for it they at least get their money’s worth instead of being ripped off!

Thank you for your feedback, and I'm sorry you had to wait for the go karts. Our Race Night promotion was started to encourage visitation on slower nights, and they have become quite popular. I'm sorry that you felt taken advantage of, as it was certainly not our intention. We do encourage people to show up at 6pm to ensure they get their rides in. We also offer an upgraded Race Night Bracelet for an extra $7 for guests to enjoy the rest of the park attractions on their visit, and with bumper boats, bumper cars, batting cages and mini golf, we feel this is tremendous value. We will continue to evaluate our promotions as we grow, so thank you for your suggestion on limiting the number of bracelets sold. I hope that you decide to visit us again in the future.
