It was a very worthwhile hike up to the pyramid but we were disappointed that they didn't make it very clear how far it was. The views from the top were amazing and the historical site was very interesting.

How many places have their own local god? How many places have a center of the essential energy of the town. Tepozteco is the name of the deity in whose honor this pyramid was built, Tepoztlan is his Land, this is his village. The local residents still venerate this deity with several festivals each year...one where the town meets at... More

The way up to the pyramid is great but if you aren't to sporty it is going to be heavy. There wasn´t to much to see at the pyramid but the view is great!

It's a tough hike, not very long but you go up all the time. But believe me, it's well worth if you take your time and enjoy it - the views from the top are great! The pyramid is OK - not the best you will find in Mexico- but if you add the location then it turns into something... More

Better to climb first thing in the morning, less crowds and the light is wonderful. The gates at the top open at 10AM.

Great history and food. Lots of shopping, pottery, clothes, etc. The people were friendly and helpful. I don't speak Spanish so shopping was a challenge.

I have been to these ruins several times while in Mexico City ... it is not too far from Mexico City and the nice little cheap hotels are nice in the town. Tepoztlán can be reached by bus from the Central de Camiones del Sur (the southern bus station outside of the Tasqueña Metro stop) in about an hour or... More

I enjoyed the hike to Tepozteco so much. The surrounding nature is amazing and so is the view on top. The hike is about 1 - 1.5 hours, but we had good weather which made it quite easy. Strongly recommended.

Great view, small pyramid. Worth the effort. About an hour plus to climb up. Bring water! Pay to use a restroom before you start the hike.
