lovely cool FRESH water spring

Go early in morning. Can get busy by looking at the number of boats arriving as we left. Great look-out post.

We've been coming to tulum for 10 years now and have bought property and retiring here next year. This was our first time to Holbox, however, and I can't wait to come back. We drove from Tulum to chiquila. It took maybe two hours. There is people holding up signs for parking. 50 pesos for day. We caught ferry from... More

The Holbox Island and the lagoon are a... tropical paradise well preserved and very beautiful. February is not the best season to see all the birds and animals, but even so it was an impressive experience - we saw seagulls, pelicans, cormorants, albatross and big egret. They say the best season is May to September, when you can see also... More

Bring your snorkeling gear with you! There are not many fishes but it is nice to snorkel here and see how "cenotes" are born. Maybe not the fanciest cenotes place but a good distance if you are staying at Holbox Island. Take a catamaran trip there! :) Also there is an easy look out to climb before you leave.

Our hotel booked the three island tour for us. We enjoyed seeing more of the area (every other day was spent kiteboarding). The bird island was interesting but our guide kept explaining everything only in Spanish even though 3 of us couldn't understand and everyone spoke English. Anyway this island, with the "source of life" spring is not to be... More

Went here on an organised trip via our hotel. It's not a cenote. It's a fresh water lagoon. Only 10 pesos to have a swim. Lovely water. Not cold either. Well worth a visit.

The natives love to share their natural wonders....watch out for the alligators! Nice boat ride if you can ride on a smaller boat....

This is an incredible place to come, and take a swim, beautiful landscapes. The saying goes that this was the fountain of youth for the mayan culture

Interesting spring near the estuary. Saw some cool tiny fish snorkeling near the exit of the spring - water cool but nice. Really beautiful overlook worth the trip to see. Also went to the 2 bird islands. Worth it.
