PLEASE NOTE THAT SANBONA WILDLIFE RESERVE IS A PRIVATE RESERVE & PRE-BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL. THE RESERVE DOES NOT OFFER DAY TRIPS OR SELF DRIVE GAME VIEWING TRIPS. Nestled at the foot of the towering Warmwaterberg Mountains in the heart of the Little Karoo, Sanbona Wildlife Reserve celebrates the spirit of the San people who once roamed this distinctive area. Sanbona and the spirit of the San people welcome you. More than 54 000 hectares of undulating mountains and plains, indigenous flora and fauna, rock formations and rock art make this a destination not to be missed.

There are two distinct parts to Sanbona: amazing game drives and outstanding food and accommodation. My wife and I stayed at Sanbona for two nights in one of the Dwyka Lodges, we went on four game drives (two early morning and two late afternoon) and...More

My daughter and I visited Sanbona in late November of this year for just one night. It seemed the best choice of the available wildlife preserves as it is large enough for the animals to roam freely in as natural a state as possible. Other...More

Sanbona is very fascinating, scarce vegetation, mountains and great wild life. We really loved it! It is a place for people who like unspoiled nature.

You have to stay at least 1 night and it's worthwhile because it is just too vast, unlike other parks this is not a zoo. Closer by I would say Aquila but do not expect it to be the same experience.
