Inside the walls of the Medieval city, you can step back in time and take a leisurely (and sometimes adventurous due to the winding streets and ability to get lost) stroll through numerous shops, restaurants, cafes, etc. When you first go through the gates (at least the ones closest to the cruise port), be prepared to be met by numerous... This place is absolutely breath taking. Wether you like history or not, it's hard to overlook the historic ancient background of such a fortress of magnitude. Almost had a sense of Rome, where you would be walking through an old medieval world and then come out at shops and restaurants. Absolutely brilliant. I was very taken back by it and... More

I felt as though I had been transported back in time as I walked the streets of the old town. It is fairly compact, does not have too many cars, and should be very enjoyable for just about anyone interested in history, Greek food, shopping, sunny weather, port cities, the seashore, &c. Highly recommended.

Part of a cruise ship itinerary this is an amazing place. Lots to see and well worth a visit. There are many bars, restaurants and shops all around within the walls. History at every turn. Can get busy depending on how many ships are docked.

One of my favorite cities in the world! You can either enjoy the hustle and bustle of the shops and cafes or you can sit outside that busy area and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the park itself. Great shopping. Great food!

Great place to explore and people watch, prices still good despite falling value of pound, and no problems with just strolling around doing your own thing.
