We visited Villa Del Balbianello in March, and so we had to imagine the gardens in full flower in spring and summer, but we still enjoyed our time there. Arrive by water taxi! That's how the villa would have originally been approached, and it is certainly the most dramatic way to arrive there. To visit the interior of the villa,... More

We visited the villa on a Tuesday and walked the "long" way (2.5km). On a sunny day it is totally worth it even with young children. When you get there ( plan the opening as there are very few people at 10 sharp) it is amazing. The house and the garden are SO well kept together. It is splendid, we... More

We visited this villa over the Easter bank holiday, the weather was gorgeous with bright blue skies. The views from the villa were tremendous overlooking the lake. To get to the villa from Lenno you need to get a see taxi and it's just a couple of minutes around the corner. We didn't pay for the tour of the villa... More

Maybe the Versailles of Lake Como. Would highly recommend catching the ferry to Lenno and doing the walk over the hill to the Villa, you will have a very good view of the Lake and the town of Tremezzo and Lenno. Do the guided tour. The Villa and it's Gardens are just spectacular.

The house is iconic and unmistakable because of how it juts almost onto the lake itself; it's something you can't miss if you take a boat anywhere on the lake, and is worth the day tour that takes about eight hours from start to finish. The interior of the home is just as impressive as the exterior, and it was... More

Absolutely stunning villa, with great interior, garden and views! Very well maintained. The village of Lenno nearby also has some pittoresk bars to relax afterwards. Highly recommended.

So this place is not easy to get to on foot. It's either a 20 minute hike up the side of a mountain or a 45 minute hike over the top of the mountain. So if that's not your thing, follow the signs near the parking area and take the boat. The view is breathtaking. The villa is stunning. The... More

We were here for a wedding and the ground are absolutely stunning. Wear suitable shoes! It's hilly and there's gravel and grassy surfaces. On a sunny day it is so picturesque. It was featured in Star Wars (when Anakin and Padme got married) and Casino Royale where James recuperates with Vesper. The couple got married in the same place used... More
