A place of silence and contemplation, the church is a pilgrimage church - but can also be visited by atheists.
It is possible for tourists to find accommodation in the former monastery.
The cloisters are also very beautiful and we had the time to calm down a little from the hustle and bustle.

Sanctuary, found by chance, surfing the internet but very beautiful and popular. The church and the cloister of the internal courtyard are very beautiful. Even though it is located in a busy area, it offers good spiritual refreshment.

A tiny statue of Madonna with little Jesus appeared in the early 1500s among the branches of an ash tree, according to popular belief it was invoked by a shepherd who had just been bitten by a snake that did not die.
In 1510 a first small church was created on the site of the discovery , then during many years and many miracles the church was enlarged.
In 1518 was built a friars convent beside the church who it’s still active.
Facade with frescoed portico , above the portico a beautiful rose window completed a very simple facade .
Inside with one nave and five chapels for each side, the twos beside the central altar are bigger and protected by beautiful wrought iron gate, the one on the right contain the small statue of Madonna of ash tree with beautiful frescoe by Domenico Morone done on 16th century .
Of the same period are the beautiful paintings done by Paolo Farinati and are in the three chapels on the left side, the fourth chapel on the left is decorated by a beautiful painting of Zeno da Verona depicting Saints Peter and John dated 1541.
Unusual the central altar with beautiful pipe organ .
From a door next to the Madonna’s chapel is possible to enter in the first cloister with frescoes dated 1653 by Pietro Muttoni , the second cloister is also frescoed and all over the walls you can see mani ex voto and pictures of miraculous people .

Visited the sanctuary today and felt compelled to write a review as I was awe struck at the peaceful tranquility of this place. It is beautiful and well looked after by the monks who are always around and available . Candles are available to light for a euro donation and there is a lovely aviary and a goldfish and terrapin pool in the cloister area. The chapel is stunning architecture , paintings , statues and altars. Sit and enjoy the ambience of this peaceful place and forget about the world outside.

After a whole day at parco natura viva we decided to visit this quite and peaceful place. Spent a couple of hours at the monastery enjoying the affrescos that recount the life of this village some decades back. Also visited the beautiful church and attended mass with my family since it was sunday.

Just below the south end of the lake is the Santuario della Madonna del Frassino (Sanctuary of Madonna del Frassino), which has an interesting history: Following the appearance of a small statue of the Madonna with the infant Jesus in her arms, in the branches of an ash tree, to a pastor in the area that had prayed for divine help following a bite from a snake, it was decided to construct a small chapel on the site of the miracle, which was opened in 1510.
Before long, the Chapel became a meeting place of numerous faithful who carried votive gifts to give thanks. Later, they built a bigger church and a convent to accommodate the monks.
The chapel was lovely; and the walls of the courtyard had photos, letters and other objects of appreciation for the restoration of good health (or escape from death) of many people; but, the wonderful discovery for us was the eight nativity scenes in a back room. Don’t miss these beautiful nativity sets. They also have a hotel and restaurant on the premises. This was such a peace and tranquil place to visit. It was worth the visit!

My fiancee and I attended Sunday services, and were impressed by the friendliness of the congregation and the interior of the church! Be prepared for a totally Italian service, and don't be shy trying to read along.Take a walk around the cemetery and visit the gift shop and the aviary outside on the right. Don't forget to stop at the cafe for a cappuccino, after the service. It was a wonderful experience and a blessed day!
