Great place for a long quiet walk, make sure the tide is going out and you cam walk for miles. Hornsea is usually quiet and parking is either cheap (about £3.50 a day) or free with plenty of options near the beach. This is a great place to take photos, have a picnic, chill out or walk to Skipsea or Withernsea (watch the tide).

We had a great walk along the front and beach from one end to the other. It was a cold, brisk day. There were A LOT of other people and dogs who had the same idea as us and WE spent much of the time dodging other people who were determined to continue walking 2 and 3 abreast! We walked on the beach as much as possible but you have to climb over wooden barriers at regular intervals.

Plenty of parking nearby, with only a short walk to the beach. Parking is reasonable priced at only £3.30 for all day.
The beach is lovely with gently sloping sand into the water. Do check the tides though because at high tide the sea comes right into the wall, covering all the sand. Because of this don't expect any permanent visitor facilities on the sand itself.
Good facilities close by; toilets, shops, fish and chips, fairground.
One improvement would be if there was foot showers on the promenade access to clean the sand off when leaving.

Hornsea beach have amazing stone pebbles one side and sandy beach on the other side. Both time we came high tide however the water does go away when we here full day. Coastguard supporter is around and watchout the sea. Pub nearby or plenty of cafe or food takeway. We spend the whole day relaxing and enjoying building sandcastle, in sea getting our feet wet and collecting different pebbles and design picture. There is also delious ice-cream made by Mr moo and paddle pool for those who want safe play for children to use. Recommend visit and plenty of car parking. Even tho puffin statue trail finish you will find Sponsor puffin are still around.

Was impressed with Hornsea Sea front.
Especially the promenade. It had sloping walkways descending to the beach so easy access for Parma wheelchairs etc.
The beach and promenade were full of people as it was a lovely day. Also the promenade was designed in such a way it had seating all along the Lower prom.
Plenty Free toilets too
Large New development was visible and almost completed.
Lovely little resort.

We visited here after being disappointed with Bridlington. At first it looked great. Lovely sandy beach. There was a bit of a smell, we thought it was the toilets at first but the smell continued all the way along the sea front. Only disappeared near the chip shop when that aroma took over! We put up with it for a bit. Then we noticed we were covered in flies. Little tiny flies. On your clothes. In your hair. On your face. As soon as you sat down they seemed to cover you. We headed back to the car after 30 minutes and yes you guessed it.. the car was covered in tiny black flies, spiders and other insects. Never seen anything like it. All of the cars on the car park were the same. Such a shame as on first sight it looked perfect.

spent a Saturday afternoon here, it was quieter than tbe other East Coast resorts.
The beach is a mix of sand and pebbles with wooden breakwaters every 75/100m.
There were public toilets, a few chippys, ice cream stalls and gift shops along the front.
One amusement arcade.
Large caravan site at the bottom end and the Marina pub at the top.
I used to come here as a child 40 years ago and this was the first time I'd been back.
There's lots of free parking on nearby streets or a couple of pay and display car parks.
Very disappointed with the lack of disability access to the beach so people were having to lift prams etc over the barrier.
As always with the north sea there was a breeze

Having had to make a trip to Hull we wanted somewhere for our labrador to have a good run so plumped for Hornsea, website said dogs allowed on certain parts of the beach. Parked in the Sands Car Park which was reasonable by todays standards (90p for 90 minutes). Literally walked across the road and excellent signage pointed us at the correct part of the beach for exercising her. Lovely and clean and what i would describe as a typical North Sea sand and pebble beach. All three of us had a lovely stop and the dog was particularly impressed. To finish it off we had 2 top notch chip buttys from J.B's Fish and Chips opposite the car park.

Hornsea beach is a nice one with a mix of sand and shingle that our children and our friend’s dog had fun playing on. The weather when we visited was sunny/cloudy, but not very warm and the sea unfortunately looked a shade of brown (probably due to the sand and the weather) and not like the lovely blue or green ones that we have seen in other parts of the UK. The Beach was very quiet during our visit. It has a nice promenade with art work displayed and a handful of places to eat and shop. The parking we used was free which was also nice.

Visited Hornsea today. Lovely clean beach and not too crowded. We sat on the beach opposite the leisure centre which is a lovely wet sand beach. Further along were sand and shingle beaches. The tide came in early (about 1pm!!) so we had a couple hours on the beach then walked along to the fair/cafes. There’s a few chip shops, ice cream places and beach shops. A couple of amusements and a small fair that was there for the summer. Rides on the fair were £3. Fish and chips £5-£8 so quite a cheap day. Free toilets in the leisure centre, And lots of beach side parking £5 for day. We spent about 4 hours (could have done longer) had a lovely time.
