I adore this bridge. The majestic lions on the end look over the town of strood and the historic city of Rochester. The bridge itself is steeped in local history. The views over the river medway are beautiful.

Worth walking across for the historical side of it. Beautiful coats of arms on the tops of the bridge and lovely looking down onto the river, but very noisy as obviously a road bridge. There is a very interesting exhibition about the bridge at the moment...More

Thank you for your kind comments. We're very proud of our Old Bridge, and the Bridge Works exhibition has recently been extended, so it will be open until October.

I never thought I'd review a bridge But here goes. I pass over this bridge on a daily basis, it a busy one and carries lots of traffic. I suppose that's a testament to how well its built and maintained. As bridges go its a...More

Thank you for your comments, it was good of you to take the time to review your first bridge. The plaque is incorrect, but we're working on changing that. Regarding the missing lion heads, that's a deliberate decision to prevent them from being damaged by...More

I’m not really sure why I’m reviewing a boring bridge or maybe that’s just the point. It’s a bridge that carries traffic (and plenty of it) from Strood across the river Medway into Rochester- job done. It does have a footpath on either side of...More

We learnt about the history of this bridge in the cathedral, so we had to come view it. It's a truly impressive piece of engineering. Knowing the history made it all the more grand in our eyes.

It’s a bridge? Hasn’t fallen down on me yet so it gets 3 stars, boats go under it sometimes as does the water.

Not quite London Bridge lol but it’s as good as. It’s a nice place to drive past on your commute. Not sure if the tourists are attracted to it or anything

There is a lot of history and some great engineering too. The trust that maintains the bridge ensure that everything is kept in harmony with the aesthetics of the bridge, despite updating its working elements, like adding LED lights. You can cross by rail, car,...More
