About
The Antrim Castle Gardens site is an absolute gem and you will find nothing like these 400 year old gardens anywhere else. A recent £6m restoration project which received generous support from Heritage Lottery Fund has now preserved this historic site for generations to come. The Gardens are a unique living museum, with layer upon layer of design features and planting added over the centuries. Indeed, rarely is so much history preserved on one site. The many exceptional features include the ancient Motte, the Large Parterre, the Yew Tree Pond and the Pleasure Gardens.

    Walking tour
Every Saturday & Sunday there is a free walking tour around the gardens. As we have recently moved to Antrim we decided to give it a go. Free & well worth going on, guide was very informative & we got to explore areas generally off limits

Antrim Gardens great, tea room NOT!
Take the dog a walk in the grounds.. it’s a lovely, actually, a beautiful place but unfortunately people have dogs off the lead which is unfair to those who have timid dogs, despite notices telling you to do so! Also have visited the Diana Tea room but would definitely not rate this place… it is the most disorganised restaurant, staff are not that friendly, the food not great at all and they are sooo slow at service. The tables and chairs outside are filthy needing a good power hose as does the parasols. Plus only one heater was working in the winter time, despite so many there. Needs a check by public health!

    Worth Seeing
The gardens are a nice place to walk and enjoy the views. The gardens were past their summer prime in October but the park was still worth seeing. They have good walking paths. There are nice views of the gardens, the ponds, the trees, and the river. The castle ruins aren't much to see but add to the overall enjoyment of the area. The folks there were very nice and friendly. The garden cafe was a nice stop on our chilly day and had some wonderful pastries and drinks to warm your insides.

    Fantastic guided tour
Brilliant guided tour with Marvellous Mike the Park Ranger! He brightened up a wet day for our group of 4 adults and 6 children with interesting facts and funny stories. A highlight of our holiday. Would highly recommend the beautiful gardens for a leisurely stroll.

This review is about this years garden show 2022.
There was no signage to tell folk where to go, or where to park. Once we found car park They had put on free bus ride to show which was great as it felt more like a walking show. I/we felt so sorry for the elderly and disabled as from the bus stop to the actual show was long, you kept thinking where are we going on a mystery walk. When we finally got to the start of the GARDEN show we where met with boats, then old crafts all of which where interesting but we went to a GARDEN show! When we finally got to the plant and flower sellers it was so disappointing as there where so few maybe 5 or 6. So many sellers had not turned up, we where told due to the protocol paperwork. I can honestly say if you enjoy eating food looking at craft then this was the show for you.
If like me and many many others who went to see plants and buy plants for the garden or look at garden furniture, flower pots or other garden ornaments then there are more plants at your local garden centre. Wasn’t worth the long walk.

Fantastic setting, with walks for all the family. There is a vast array of wildlife within the grounds, and a 1km riverside walk adjoining. If you're feeling a little peckish, there is c cafe on site, which serves nice food.

Beautiful gardens. Grest place to spend some time on a sunny day. Lots of paths to cycle or walk, ponds, garden terraces, castle ruins.
Loved the courtyard area where the cafe was located, however not really impressed by the cafe, poorly run covid organisation was poor and overpriced.

We went before and it was lovely.
We ended up just myself and our granddaughter getting in due to ill health and vaccination requirements. Pricey but worth it, she loved it. Asked me if she could go on the swing chair ride THIS year three times as opposed to twice the last time.

Went online to buy tickets, four adults and one child since we invited her parents too. £47. Dear enough!

Then before checkout I was offered 5 tokens, didn't know what they were for, didn't want them. They were added to my basket; £50. So £10 each. I tried to go back to remove them and ended up with 5 more, then 5 more! I finally got to a page where I could delete the £150 worth (they were offering 12 for 10 but I couldn't see any of that offer.

I deleted them but just before buying the tickets I opened a chat to ask what they were for... the rides!! You have to pre-purchase tokens for the rides AT £10 EACH! So I promptly told them that we would not be going. Just imagine what it would cost a family with, say, 3 kids?

!!! Ridiculous how everywhere you go you get ripped off out of yet more of your cash!! Joke, but nobody is laughing!

Me and my family of 6 went to Antrim Castle Gardens to celebrate the 12th of July and it was a COMPLETE LET DOWN and offensive to our nations great holiday. There were no banners whatsover for this celebration which was a bad sign in the beginning. One of the staff 'Timonas', he said his name was, informed us that there would be a a band procession and food catered by Tim Hortons orginal 'Edan McGarrell'. He once again came up to us as we walked around and began shouting about how there was a suprise visit form Yours Truely, 'The Queen Elizabeth ii. I found this EXTREMEMLY offenive that this young annoying lad would amke such terrible jokes about our monarch who is no longer with us. My Husband Mark began to defend her honour and shouted at him, which consqequently ended with us being thrown out like animals. It was a terribly eventful day and i was extrememly hurt and offended the whole. On the other hand it was a very gorgeous garden and we wouldve had a great day if it wasnt for Timonas.

We love walking the dogs here, it’s a beautiful place and the sights are varied from walking through the forest to walking through the gardens, the dog parks are great and I love how you can walk in a variety of directions and each will take you somewhere different. The coffee shop there is also a great place to stop, I haven’t been for a visit since covid hit but before we would regularly frequent here on our walks. The only downside may be that it can get very busy and if you time it wrong it can be hard to get parking (though you can normally get in at the central car park or at Antrim leisure centre), also make sure you check what’s on if you’re planning a visit.

I live locally and have always loved visiting the castle grounds as they’re watching distance from my home. Very well maintained and beautiful pathed walks. Oh sunny days this is a very popular place for families, dog walkers and cyclists. It is also completely free and there is insight car parking! Small cafe in the courtyard but I recommend bringing a picnic or getting a coffee from one of the coffee shops in Antrim town! There are also fairy gardens and fairy trails throughout the gardens!
