The Antrim Castle Gardens site is an absolute gem and you will find nothing...

The Antrim Castle Gardens site is an absolute gem and you will find nothing like these 400 year old gardens anywhere else. A recent £6m restoration project which received generous support from Heritage Lottery Fund has now preserved this historic site for generations to come. The Gardens are a unique living museum, with layer upon layer of design features and planting added over the centuries. Indeed, rarely is so much history preserved on one site. The many exceptional features include the ancient Motte, the Large Parterre, the Yew Tree Pond and the Pleasure Gardens.

Beautiful Gardens

These are great gardens and very well maintained. A lovely place to spend a May Bank Holiday. Certainly very popular today.

We were headed towards Belfast and needed a break from the round about. Stopped here for a few minutes and stayed an hour. What's not to like - it's free, it's beautiful and it shouldn't be missed if you like natural beauty. There is a cafe on the grounds and a gift shop, but the real sights are beyond the... More

The castle grounds is suitable for everyone although some parts may be difficult for wheelchair users due to stones but most is accessible. There's been a lot of work done in the castle grounds and really is an enjoyable walk, if your feeling in the mood for a longer walk you can cross the bridge and head to the Loughview... More

After passing this place for years I finally got a chance to visit. Pleasantly surprised. Beautiful place to walk around. Some interesting ruins to look at. Only problem was there wasn't enough information about the history of the place. Still a beautiful place to visit and walk around

These lovely gardens were only ten minutes walk from Antrim town centre. They were quiet and peaceful oasis next to the river with the option to follow a footpath along the rivers edge on a six mile circular route round the outskirts of town.

This is an ideal place for families, couples or on your own. Lovely to walk around, nice gardens, ponds and lots to see. Your walk can be extended out to the shores of Lough Neigh where there is a cafe where you can have snacks or a nice meal. Well worth a visit!

Thank Joan B
