The Antrim Castle Gardens site is an absolute gem and you will find nothing like these 400 year old gardens anywhere else. A recent £6m restoration project which received generous support from Heritage Lottery Fund has now preserved this historic site for generations to come. The Gardens are a unique living museum, with layer upon layer of design features and planting added over the centuries. Indeed, rarely is so much history preserved on one site. The many exceptional features include the ancient Motte, the Large Parterre, the Yew Tree Pond and the Pleasure Gardens.

Spent a very pleasant couple of hours rambling around here chilling out. Good place to hang. There is the wall of the an old castle but little else left. The garden has been built where the castle once was.

I've visited the gardens several times and is a pleasant location but not much to see our do. The food in the small cafe is good, wooded walks take all of twenty minutes but it is peaceful and pretty.

A guided tour opens one's eyes to the tremendous work accomplished in restoring these gardens to something close to the original features. The family history of the Masserenes is linked to the various features of the gardens. The pool is fascinating! Surrounding the actual gardens...More

There is only a ruin of the Castle which burned down at the start of the 20th century. You mainly see and enjoy the gardens.
